I liked this one. The only thing that made me want to spork my eye out was Brie. Oh good gravy I wanted to put her in a time out. Like, bad. I wanted to tell her she couldn't come out until she acts like a 20 year old, not a 10 year old. But whatever, the poor girl had a ton of pressure that she put on her own shoulders.

I did like all the gymnastic and all the Olympic stuff, that was pretty cool. I think the epilogue was the best part. I liked seeing where Brie and Erik were at, especially with his family.

I can't decide if I loved this book or hated it.

I tend to dislike books with a power imbalance between the hero and heroine, and I think that despite the fact that Brie was of legal age, Erik was her coach. And that leads to a massive power imbalance.

Don't get me wrong, the banter and sparks between the two were entertaining, but at the end of the day I just couldn't get over the gymnast/coach relationship.

The first book in this duet was unforgettable.

Unfortunately, the tone and characters in the second book lacked the sparkle and likeable factor I hoped for.

I am all for an enemies to lovers story, but the fire between Brie and Erik was more volatile than sexy. I didn't feel the underlying passion of their relationship until nearly the end of the book. By then, I was just rushing the audiobook so I could finish. I felt myself just wanting to finish rather than caring what happened between the characters.

The secondary characters, Brie's fellow gymnasts (minus June), added lightness and comic relief in the book. Their comraderie with each other was something to look forward to.

While this book wasn't my favorite, it may be of interest to others who enjoy two main characters who are stubborn, passionate and like to push buttons.

Well, I started it as soon as it came out yesterday and finished this morning, so saying I liked it must be true! And just like Scoring Wilder, and The Summer Games: Settling the Score, this one also made me want to do more sports :b I actually really like that. And with the Olympics starting this week, its spot on guys! AND, I think I'll go for a run later, HA, now enjoy the little rest.

Another Olympic hit by the great R.S. Grey. Her books are easy and funny, and a delight to read. Including topics that everyone in their lives has considered or has been going through!

It was a great story about a young girl (20 years) who has worked hard to come where she is at the moment, all because of her mother, who has worked hard everyday, so that her daughter could do what she desired. And as we read along we also feel how torn Brie is because of that. She wants to win gold for herself, but also wants to win gold so she can give something back to her mother.

And Erik, the coach, dark, handsome 29 years old MAN, it's hard to resist him.

Erik and Brie's games are never ending, pushing each other and fighting all the time. Some could maybe have been left out, but that said, they were all a part of a build up. And when Erik got soft, I loveeeed that.

And her friends, Molly, Lexi and Rosie, all different, but a good support. That just shows how important it is also to have great friends beside you. And believe in second chances!

And there there is Erik's grandfather Niklas, what a beautiful soul. So lovable and enjoyable to read the scenes where he's included.

I just want more of it all...

Anyways, here are a few quotes from the book;
While it hurt to fall, it was agonizing to be dropped. ~ Brie

"it doesn’t matter how many hours you put into your craft if you’re staying in your comfort zone."

“You’re hiding something. You’re carrying the weightof the world on your shoulders. I know the difference between being nervous and being absolutely terrified to fail. So why? Why are you the latter?” ~ Erik to Brie

As his hand reached for mine, I recognized the intangible and elusive feeling building up inside my chest: hope. That soft thrill that sent rays of light through the darkness was nearly enough to convince me to give in, but the notion was fleeting.

"If the Sons of Anarchy were based in California, the Grandpas of Anarchy must’ve headed north to Seattle." ~ Lexi (cracking hilarious jokes as ever:D)

Side note: I LOVED that Andie was in the book. It totally made me want to reread Settling the Score.
- It wasn't much, but it was enough to make me smile about the other character's I hold dear.

I just love all R S Grey books they are refreshing with the perfect mix of sexiness and humour that I can't help but not be able to put her books down. This one is no different, I fell in love with Erik and Brie from the start, they challenged each other which lead to the sexiest moments I've ever read (love the new steamy writing from Grey, who knew hey!) and their chemistry was off the charts that always had me at the edge of my seat and in need of a fan.

There was a perfect blend of everything a good book needs and I couldn't put it down until I read the last chapter. R.S. Grey will always be a one click for me.

Oh and where can I sign up for yoga? and I mean some hot yoga people! ;)

I hate these kind of books. The ones you’re for sure you’re going to love and then you come out of it feeling very meh. I’m more disappointed than anything after reading The Summer Games: Out of Bounds, because I had such high hopes going in and I was only let down the more I read. Before going into Out of Bounds I was thinking something along the lines of, “Oh, yay! Another R.S. Grey book to love.” I came out of it thinking, “What did I just read?”

Out of Bounds begins really well. I was hooked to the story, and I was for sure I was going to fall in love with this book. At first the tension between Brie and Erik was off the charts hot and I couldn’t get enough of it. But then everything changed. Erik started acting like the biggest douche on the planet and Brie started acting childish. I kept thinking, “Things will get better.” Only they didn’t. It only got worse.

Brie started off as a strong, independent gymnast who I instantly liked in the beginning, by the end of the book she turned into a whiny, childish character I couldn’t stand. Erik was a jerk in the beginning, and I thought he was a misunderstood jerk-and he would change, but he went from being a misunderstood jerk to an asshole douche canoe whose actions only got worse by the middle of the book. He didn’t have any redeeming qualities at all by the end of the book, in my opinion.

Possible spoiler incoming, read at your own risk. There is a scene at the 52% mark that a lot of people have mentioned having a problem with. I’m right there with them. It’s not that it was a f/f/m scene, I don’t have a problem with f/f or f/f/m. Different strokes for different folks, and all that jazz. I won’t deny that the scene wasn’t hot, because it was. My problem with the scene is that it came outta nowhere and felt like it was added for the sole purpose of shock value. It added absolutely nothing to the story. The book would’ve been fine without it. It added zip zap zero to it. And I only ended up hating Erik more after because he was even a bigger jerk than he had been before after it went down. So there’s that.

My biggest problem was the characters. If they had any redeeming qualities and acted their age, I think I would’ve liked this a whole lot more. The writing was decent, but the character development needed a lot of work. I hate that I feel disappointed by this book, but I do. The beginning had a lot of potential, and it just crashed and burned the more the story went on. This could totally be a case of it’s not the book, it’s me so don’t take my words to heart. Everyone reads differently and you might like Out of Bounds, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I'm disappointed. The beginning was good, the middle wasn't all that, and the ending was okay. I didn't connect with any of the characters. Some things that happened didn't make sense for the story. I ended up skimming most of the book. It bums me out that I didn't like this one because I've loved the previous books of hers that I've read, and I had high hopes going in.
