Emotionally Griping. Jay has done it again! She has torn out our hearts and stitched them back together. I have Loved Lucy since I first read about her in the other books in this series. This book takes you back to her beginning, tells you her story. You better prepare yourself because you will not be ready. Hell I have read this book several times and I every time I reread it, I'm still not ready. Lucy is so incredibly strong. She goes through heartache and loss at such a young age and she doesn't get to stop and cope because she has to grow up rather quickly to take care of her brothers. Luckily Cam is there, Cam is the perfect Book Boyfriend... so perfect he gives Jake Andrews a run for his money. Cam is there for Lucy, he has such a big heart. He is also wiser than his 15 years. He becomes Lucy's rock, her strength. Cam takes care of Lucy when she is too busy trying to take care of everyone else. "No one takes care of me. No one. Not even dad. He can't even take care of himself." This is so much more than a love story. Cam and Lucy's love is truly spectacular. It's so much more than Forever. I feel like out of all the characters of this series I connect the most with Lucy. She is my Spirit animal.. seriously. She is always reading, trying to escape in the pages of a book to get away from everything happening around her. And drunk Lucy... Ha! Drunk Lucy is just too much! I don't think I have ever laughed so much. This story really is everything. There is so much heartache and devastation but there is also so much humor and Love. The way Cam loves Lucy is so completely, so unconditionally, it's so raw. "He's fierce.".."Yeah. The way he cares for me- the way he protects me. It's fierce. He's fierce". This is one of those stories that stays in your heart. It consumes you and will always be in the back of your mind. I highly recommend reading this book! You will not be disappointed.

I’m here for it! After reading Lucas’ story first on KU I later found out there was a whole series before so back I went. I wanted to know more about Lucy’s & Cameron’s story. Not gonna lie I was annoyed to discover they were book 4.

This got me out of my reading slump & have since become a fan of Jay McLean. Early 20s me would have loved this series even more than today.

Truthfully I only read the other books just to get to Lucy & Cam’s story. I wanted to skip the rest just to get here but everyone kept saying to read them in order so I did. It was worth it.

Book 1 - Micky & Jake was not a fan tbh
Book 2 & 3 - Logan & Amanda frustrating but better
Book 4 - These two are the cutest ♡♡ it was refreshing to read about a couple who share many first together over the years. Although I was devastated when Roxy came into the picture followed by they’re own little heartache & their future.

I would recommend this series. Maybe skip book 1 ? I don’t know. But for my fellow Colleen Hoover Fans who loved her early stuff too like Slammed and Ugly love then you probably may enjoy this one too.

I don’t know if I’ll read book 5. Too much & I haven’t been that invested in Heidi and Dylan.

This book ruined all relationships for me because Cameron set the bar way too high. I absolutely loved every page and experienced every type of emotion. I want to be a character in one of Jay McLean's books because they are all perfect!

This is the best book of the series. My thoughts are still scattered, it's so beautiful I want to take it all in and live it some more. Amazingly done. Well played characters and the setting and scenes are all perfect. This is perfect ot deserves more than the five stars available here. This is going on the top shelf. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!

*more thoughts to come... ❤

Super conflicted. The writing is really good and I love the characters created, but so much of this drove me nuts. On the one hand they all act older than their age, and then on the other they all act so incredibly young and immature for their age.

The OW drama, which was such a big part of this book, just didn't work for me.
SpoilerI didn't like that Luccy tells him again and again how she feels threatened by Roxy and Cam didn't take any steps to mitigate that and again and again put himself in situations he shouldn't have been in. I get there was no intent on his part, but I never felt like he ever fully acknowledged what he did wrong and what he should have done differently - he just sort of excused it all along. Then when Roxy comes out and tells him she has feelings for him, he is a complete jerk to her and yells at her calling her names. Really, she wasn't the one who did anything wrong in this. The blame lies with him and she didn't deserve his treatment there. I just wish we would have seen him change and take action after Lucy had taken off but before Roxy told him of her interest. I want my characters to learn from their mistakes, grow and then see them in a similar situation but making a choice that shows their growth. Also - Cam cried off an on in this book and I have to admit, that bugged me. I really don't want a H that cries almost as much as the h!

Trigger Warning:
SpoilerThis story has an ectopic pregnancy and then the h is told it will be impossible to have children again without intervention- and that she probably can't carry them. Miscarriages are absolutely horrid. They leave you wrecked, devastated and an emotional mess. I thought her pushing him away because of it was incredibly realistic. But the whole funeral thing and going on and on and on about their loss, when they didn't know they were pregnant, and are in college just seemed unnecessarily dramatic and OTT and really bothered me. A LOT. As someone who lost twins, after trying for a while, I completely get how horrible it is, but this just seemed way too much and really irked me greatly. Being devastated over the future diagnosis and spending more time there would have been way more acceptable to me. Which leads me to my frustration at the end of the book - they are moving forward with IVF. Hello??? What happened to her not being able to carry a baby to term??? IVF does NOT solve that.

I really did love the characters and some of the situations, it just got way too dramatic in parts and dragged things on. Had some of this been tighter and less dramatic this could have been a 5 star read for me.

"Love has no limits. No boundaries. No time. It's eternal. Forever."

This series has been wonderful from the start, but this latest installment is absolute perfection. It was such a riveting read, and talk about emotional rollercoster.
I don't think I have felt so bi-polar while reading a book, smiling and actually giggling out loud. The next minute, I was sobbing and bawling. But it was totally worth the crazy ride - it was amazing to see Cam and Lucy's story from the beginning, and to see the dedication that we have always seen from their friends perspective.
Cam was such a loving, giving and strong boy, and he turned into a even better man. And of course, we have always LOVED Lucy - she is such a awesome character - always makes you feel!

Looking forward to More Than Enough - crossing my fingers that it is Derek's book - but Ms. Jay is not saying!!

Reading this a second time i can’t put into words how amazing this story is. Cam and Lucy are such a beautiful couple. I cried even tho I knew what was gonna happen. This second time felt like the first time. The best part about jays stories is you can always come back to visit and you’ll see something in a new light or the story will affect you in a different way. There’s something to be said about loving somebody completely and wholeheartedly. I loved this story. I love cam and Lucy. Their love is just so beautiful

Loved it!!! Loved reading their story, also liked the fact that their love story wasn't perfect but had ups and downs, but never that it was a cheating thing. Am looking forward to much more by this author!

2022 Update: I’m getting too old for this much angst, but the rating holds!

While this is the fourth book in the series, it's my first review. I've rated the prior three four stars each, and this one deserves a higher rating. It's not perfect, but even knowing what formula to expect going in, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I picked up the series for the fish-out-of-water promise of More Than This, and while I struggled with the twist ending of that book and felt it went on for fifty pages too long, I am a sucker for ad hoc families and deceivingly strong characters. That scene in the limo in the first novel always stuck with me. When I come back to a series a year or so later I often have to reread the past installment or bring myself back up to speed. I didn't need to do so with these people.

The formula Jay McLean seems to lean on involves characters building themselves up from tragedy and then toppling apart for maximum angst before rebuilding. In the first novel I remember feeling like the story organically ended and another hill was padded on unnecessarily. In the next two I felt she sucked every ounce of angst out of the story with big, huge roadblocks. Here it is the most understated and it feels the most organic. There's tragedy and misunderstanding, but more of everyday variety. Heavy topics of murder, home invasion, sexual assault, and abandonment behind us. The characters had more room to breathe this time.

Lucy has been my favorite character all along, and along with Mark and surprisingly Minge, the characters popped off the page. There was the emotional repetitiveness common to this type of story, but the humor absolutely made up for it. I was never bored, and the continuity was very impressive as the prior novels happened in the background.

I shouldn't have liked this as much as I did. I really, really did.
