No estoy llorando...

I'm having the slight feeling that Mark Blackthorne will be one of my favourite charakters in the dark artifices series, since I already love him now and he just seems soooooo overly interesting, I can't wait for Lady Midnight.

I really loved this installment to the series. While there was not as much going on as in the previous novella, I really enjoyed this, and I ended up flying through it. I was so excited that we got to see Mark and even Kieran. While I ship Mark and Cristina in Lady Midnight, I also think Mark and Kieran are freaking cute together, and I ship them a lot as well. But back to Mark, this was years before Lady Midnight, so he has not changed quite as much as he has in Lady Midnight. He still has faith in Shadowhunters. He really believes in everyone. He is worried about his siblings. He is very much still a Shadowhunter, which was interesting to see.

I also loved seeing Simon and Izzy because they are my favorite. They are literally the cutest couple in existence, and if my smile had gotten any larger when reading this particular portion of the book, my face might have broken. It just made me so happy to see their playful banter, and it was just everything I wanted. And then the last part of the book just made me super happy, and I am not going to say anything about it because it was really cute, and I am not spoiling anything. But it was beautiful and cute and really allowed us to see Julian before he had gone so far downhill, as we come to see in Lady Midnight going into Lord of Shadows.

But overall, this was a solid installment to the series, and I am so excited to continue on with the rest of the novella series. I honestly think every novella just keeps getting better and better, and I am just flying through these. The rest of these are going to be so much fun...

Oh my heart, oh my Mark. It's safe to say I maybe, possibly a tad, shed a tear or 5 trillion....

I wasn't ready for this.

Everytime Sarah Rees Breenan is involved in one of these I end up a sobbing mess. And this time it wasn't even sobbing. It was a hysterical crying because life is not fair and good people should have bad lifes.

So thanks for that Cassie & Sarah!

That being said, I do ffeel like this is the book where character development is shown the most. We see Simon react in a way we hadn't seen before, we see him taking responsability, and still staying true to himself.

I do think this is one of the best ones so far.

Quote: "“Fortunate is the one who knows the name of their heart. They are the ones whose hearts are never truly lost. They can always call their heart back home,” He said, his voice almost a chant. “Do you remember the name of your heart, Simon Lewis?”

“Beauty can be like that. Beauty cannot be trusted. Beauty can slip through your fingers like water and burn on your tongue like poison. Beauty can be the shining wall that keeps you from all you love.”

WHY ARE THESE NOVELLAS MAKING ME SO GOD DAMN EMOTIONAL?!?!

WARNING! Spoilers below:
Don't look!
SpoilerHa! Just kidding you can totally look.

SpoilerOKAY! So Simon, being Simon, ends up getting kidnapped. When will this boy ever learn from his kidnapping experiences?!? While he is captured he and Mark try to figure out a way that they can escape Faerieland - which doesn't in any way sound like Disneyland. Like, at all. I would not go visit this place ever. And MARK!! Poor freaking Mark, I feel so bad for him and the rest of the Blackthorne family - at least Helen got to hear about his love. I really want Mark to escape one day and be free and happy. Other than that I loved the sizzy moments (give me more!) I love all the other characters as well - but I have a feeling someone is going to die. I don't know how to explain it but it's there in my gut. I can't wait to read the next book! I need more information about everyone!

Ya quiero leer Lady of Midnight
