I adore M.A. Wardell's writing. Kent is everything

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I have loved everything M.A. Wardell has written but this was so good. His books are always a must buy for me! Between the sweet understanding and caring Kent who wants to take care of Vincent. To the worried, self conscious Vincent who just wants someone to like him for himself and look past his illness. I laughed, cried and had to cool off with this book. Kent being a Leather Bear was the best part! As a member of the community it was fun to see someone who was into leather and very Daddy Bear. The smutty scenes were so smutty, and the mouth on Kent! Who knew?! I was so excited to get to this book as I like Vincent in the first book and wanted to see him get love. The appearances of the other book characters was nice too to see where they are now in their lives. So many Stars!!!

I almost abandoned the book when the Spoiler foot fetish content got introduced, since that's not really my thing, but after finishing the book I feel like the sexual exploration aspect of the book prompted some of its stronger moments. Although I liked this couple in concept, the pacing of the book was pretty poor and the writing felt repetitive at times. This is especially true when it comes to the OCD storyline. I really related to Vincent at first and I saw my own compulsions reflected in him, but as time went on, it felt like Wardell was Spoiler implying that being in love means Vincent doesn't need help with his OCD anymore. I think that a little more TLC towards developing the characters and less towards coming up with the worst pet names ever Spoiler ("smoothie"???? seriously?????) would have done this book a lot of good.

In this third installment of MA Wardell’s Teachers in Love series, we catch up with two side characters we’ve met before. First is Vincent, whom we briefly met in the first book as a blind date gone wrong. He was a good guy, but just not right for the MC. They decided they’d make better friends, so we get cameos of Marvin and Olan from Teacher of the Year. ❤️
Next we have Kent, the clumsy but affable principal from Mistletoe and Mishigas. This means visits from Sheldon and Theo! Sweet, lovable Theo! How I’ve missed you!!

Vincent and Kent would seem to be polar opposites at first. Vincent has OCD and extreme anxiety. He needs order, cleanliness, and a stringent schedule. Kent trips over air, is disorganized, and flies by the seat of his pants. Yet, these men seem to bring out the best in one another. Watching them grow individually and as a couple was such a joy. Each character’s perceived flaws turn out to be their greatest asset. Once they learn to look at what they have always considered weakness and use them to help the other man, they each learn how truly strong they are.

Writing characters with OCD can go wrong so easily, but the author did such a good job. I can tell he did his research and showed much respect to those who suffer its effects. In addition, Vincent wasn’t miraculously “cured” after falling in love. Kent’s ADHD wasn’t either. A person learns to manage with the help of behavior modification and medication if appropriate.

All in all I loved the love story between these two men. I loved the side characters at the school, the family members, and even the sweet granddaughter.

I was provided an ARC of this book as I am a member of the author’s Patreon group. I am happy to provide this honest review.

I absolutely loooovvveeeddd this book! Are we surprised, though? Every book in this series has been fantastic!

There is a lot to love about this story but first let’s talk about representation. Vincent lives his life with OCD, which has been a major hurdle for his life (especially dating). He was a serial first dater until Kent comes along and falls in love with ALL of Vincent. I was literally blushing and kicking my feet while reading their love blossom.

My favorite thing about this series is the cameos from characters in the other books. We were introduced to Kent in Mistletoes and Mishigas and I am happy we were able to get his full story. Kent is the sweetest man and I am obsessed!

Bonus points for the spice. M.A. Wardell kept hinting that this book was going to be very spicy, but I didn’t know howwwww spicy! There's something incredibly exciting about the contrast between their intense nights and their professional days. The combination is spicy and captivating.
