********** Contain Some Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. This series just keeps on getting better, and it’s definitely my favourite of the series so far. I actually quite liked how Christina decided to change up the writing style to dual POV, as we usually only get Myla’s thoughts and feelings, whereas during this book we also heard Lincoln’s. During this book angels are fading, meaning millions of Heavens residents are dying. According to the prophecy, the only way Myla can save them is travel back in time to the time when King Arthur was alive, so he can help her create her own knights of the Round Table. There’s a major catch though as by travelling back in time to fix the fading angel issue it might end the after-realms with a demonpocalypse and freeing Colossus, the Archdemon King from his prison. Myla and Lincoln usually have help from their friends and family but they’re all extremely busy. Myla and Lincoln have no choice but to travel back in time, using the Band of Epochs created by Lucifer.

There were five smaller bands, but now there’s four. Meaning that someone has already used one of the bands, and unleashed the demonpocalypse. Everyone Myla and Lincoln know have been wiped out. Myla travels back but Lincoln’s ring doesn’t work as someone is trying to stop him, but he keeps trying. Lincoln and Myla are separated but they use all the tools in their arsenal to come up with a plan to stop Colossus from being unleashed, and finding a way back to each other. I really liked how much love, trust and support they show each other, especially Lincoln when he knows that Myla is going to come up with a plan even if things are looking extremely dire. They’d rather fight to the bitter end instead of losing all hope. I’m hoping we find out why Lincoln’s father Connor is acting strange, and what havoc Armageddon has planned next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

This was another enjoyable read in a world we know and love... oh wait... cancel that, we're going back in time to King Arthur, Camelot and yes, Avalon!
Think you know the stories? Well, buckle up and find out what a douchebag King Arthur really was, and who Camelot was keeping prisoner.

Myla needs to work together for this mission to succeed. Unfortunately, she doesn't play well with others unless they're her family or close friends. UGH.
However, everyone she knows and loves, and well.. the whole world is depending on her for this.

Pacing and flow were good, there wasn't a time I felt bored or overwhelmed, a good balance between action and conversation.

The book itself was well written, with some errors here and there (I should think though, that this is resolved with the definite edition).

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and all in all, I enjoyed it, it was a fun and light book in between the battles with Armageddon.

Everytime I read one of these books I think I can’t be entertained as much as the last, I am always wrong, I absolutely love each and everyone of these books, the series is fantastic and I’m so ecstatic we finally get Myla’s story. These are funny, sarcastic, kick ass characters, fabulous story led books. Dive in, you will not regret it

I am going crazy!

Time and Time again, I basically shout my enjoyment for the Angelbound Origins series. This is the series that got me interested in mild-horror and dark comedy. And like all the previous books in the series, The Brutal Time kept me from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. You can genuinely NEVER go wrong with a book by Christina Bauer. She knows her craft. She knows how to get you hooked. And I love how the POV switches from Myla to Lincoln. I love being in his head!

A long review made short? Read this series. Read this book. You have to. I dare you to read this book.

Disclaimer: I had the privilege of reading an advance edition of this book, kindly provided to me by the author and XpressoBookTours. All opinions are my own and voluntary.

Angelbound is one of my all-time favorite books. I've re-read it a gazillion times. With each book in the series, I find it hard to start reading it. Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond excited to see what Myla & Lincoln are up to, but I'm always afraid, that book won't be ass good as the first one.

Well, it's amazing. From the first chapter, we are thrown right in the middle of the action. Myla is scheming and up to no good. In order to help fading angels, she has to travel back in time, gather her own knights of the round table. Only problem, she doesn't play well with others.

I love Myla, she is one of my all-time favorite characters, kick-ass, always battle-ready and snarky AF. :) I love the way she and Lincoln just fit.

The writing is top-notch, I love the way the story starts right in the middle of the action and there is no stopping, the pace is fast and I read it in one sitting. :)

The Brutal Time is the first on in Angelbound series, where narration switches between Myla and Lincoln. And... it just works. I fell in love with Lincoln's voice in Lincoln and I loved hearing what he was up to.

Highly recommend it to anyone!!!

The Brutal Time captured my attention when I read the blurb. I was intrigued to see how the author would spin the legend of King Arthur and Camelot. Then I read that memorable first line and thought to myself, “I am going to love this book.” And guess what, I did.

The Brutal Time is the 6th book in the Angelbound Series. I was a little hesitant to read the book because of that. I am happy to say is that this can be read as a stand-alone book. The author explained Myla and Lincoln’s backstories without getting into the previous books, which I enjoyed. That left me able to focus on the craziness that was going on in this book. And yes, there was a lot of that.

I loved Myla. She was unbelievably snarky and found herself in situations that made me scratch my head. Take, for instance, going to Lucifer’s lab. That set off a chain of events that ended up with her going to the past to save the future (make sense…it didn’t to me at first either). She thought well on her feet too. She was able to come up with last-minute plans that worked. She was just plain awesome!!

I liked that Lincoln was more leveled headed than Myla. He was able to reign her in, well somewhat reign her in. During the fight with the archdemons, Lincoln was willing to do whatever it took to stall them so Myla could come up with a plan. Plus, add in that he was head over heels in love with Myla, and it just made him a complete package.

I loved the author’s retelling of the King Arthur legend. I had no issue imagining King Arthur as a slob. It also made me remember that most myths are usually more fiction than fact.

The storylines in The Brutal Time were well written and fast-paced. There were no dropped storylines or dropped characters. I enjoyed how the author was able to merge the secondary storylines with the main one. It made for a more exciting read.

I loved the secondary characters. They added an extra depth to the story. I also like that Myla’s tail got recognition in the book. That tail was as sassy as she was!!

The end of The Brutal Time was exciting. I say exciting because there was something revealed that made me look forward to the next book!!
