Such a fantastic book! Loved having all the bits and pieces of Charley and Reyes' history together that were flashbacks in the series, all together, and from his perspective! So awesome!

So this one ends right around the end of the 3rd book or so. I wouldn't read it any time before that, but you don't have to wait until after the 8th book to read it.
I wouldn't say that I like Reyes any more or less after reading this. It gives an in depth glimpse of his time in the big house, you also get to see his friendship build with his best friend. Lots of stalking Charley. There was also a LOT of uncomfortable situations with children being abused etc. (Reyes and his sister) which did not make for a very enjoyable read. I guess it makes you empathize with his past, which he hates by the way.

If you love Reyes you will probably love this one.

Reading this one 'for science'.
This will either make me love Reyes or hate him even more.

5 Dazzling Stars

“I don’t understand people. They smile when they are mad. They hug people they hate. They steal from people they genuinely love. And they are jealous of babies.”

This is the start of Charley and Reyes’ story from his point of view. I loved it, but it was surprisingly hard to read. Having the story of Reyes’ past skimmed over in the main books, and now reading his story was emotional. I still loved it though.

There isn’t a ton of new info in this novella, mostly the same thing from Reyes’ perspective. It tells his side of things, of his life, how he survived, of meeting Charley and the undeniable connection between them. But it does give a new appreciation of Reyes Farrow.

What I love most about Reyes is that even though he is who and what he is, and having had such a horrific start to his life, he is still capable of love, compassion, and caring enough to help others. He is not the monster that he believes himself to be. This is what Charley sees and loves in him. Although the outer package doesn’t hurt either. ☺

If you are a fan of the series, I don’t have to say this, but I will anyway… this is a definite Must Read!

Reading this made me want to reread the entire Charley Davidson series... I just might. It's nice to finally have some insight into Reyes.

The dark and painful story of Reyes Farrow, including answers on all sorts of questions, including his relationship with Charley from his point of view.

Dark

This was just ok. It was very dark. No new information really, just story after story of abuse and Reyes and Charley meeting in some way.
