This was super cute. Seriously, so much fun. I really enjoy Crusie - she's definitely becoming a favorite.

Very light well-written funny romance that didn't make a whole lot of sense. Why the no sex bet? Why is Charlie even going on with the investigation? Why is he even there for his father to begin with? When he found out the "drug dealing" was not for profit, but a matter of a kind compassionate man giving out free marijuana to elderly chemotherapy patients, it didn't change his mind to see the "perpetrator" arrested and sent to prison. WTF? "The law is the law" indeed. Maybe so, in the context of the times, but I could have done without the hero's lectures on the subject. The antagonist was such a wet noodle that I couldn't even hate him. Allie wanted a connection to Charlie that was more than sex, but it didn't happen. They're getting married at the end, but it was all about great sex. She hated what he did to the old pot grower, but it's true love. Who cares about fundamental worldview differences? This is one of Crusie's early category romances re-packaged. So it is what it is, but until the threads did not come together at the end, it was fun.

3.5 stars because this isn't Crusie at the top of her game, but it's still Crusie, and I love her. I would've really enjoyed a little more building in the relationship instead of the main characters falling into bed after less than 12 hours of knowing each other. The investigation subplot started off nicely but then it got shoved underneath the puppy story and then quickly wrapped up at the end.

And Mark, the "villain" wasn't crazy enough or maniacal enough. He was just an idiot.

Just the same, the book had some great laugh out loud moments, and it was an enjoyable light read.

This was the second Crusie I’ve read, but it won’t be the last. I enjoyed the characters in this one very much. Allie, the radio producer looking for a new star; Charlie, the reluctant star of the new radio show Charlie All Night which seems to draw in a bigger and bigger crowd; Joe, Allie’s gay roommate/best friend/surrogate brother ~ not to mention all of Allie, Joe and Charlie’s coworkers at the radio station ~ oh, and Sam, the little puppy that everyone tries to take care of. There were just so many endearing characters in this story.

I'd say this was Good. Crusie has created another fun place for the reader to get lost in and I look forward to reading more stories of hers in the future.

This book was great. It had everything a good romance ought to have - delicious hero, smart heroine, a couple of crazy other characters, a superb plot - everuthing. And not to forget the sense of humor, which is something I almost always look for in books. All in all - wonderful read.

It was ok. It swung back and worth for me. One minute it was really good and then it just kind of went to not so good.

I wanted light, fluffy, disposable, and it is light and fluffy, but then there are these little hooks that make it hard to forget. Maybe at some point I'll pass on my copy, but not yet.
