I’m officially obsessed with Rachel Lynn Solomon. This is my 3rd read by her and I cannot wait until 2021 to read two new releases. I love her writing and I couldn’t put this book down. My heart ached for Sophie and Peter and I could relate to them a lot. Ugh I love them and Rachel Lynn Solomon.

no because i literally do not care what anyone else says this has been one of the best books i've read in a while. if only it didn't have such an unattractive cover!! i'm so sorry to the author this book is incredible i'm convinced that the cover is the reason why it isn't more popular.

i picked up this book because i thought the premise was intriguing, and also because i like foolish characters since they boost my ego. i was afraid that this book was going to be overly emotional and saccharine and get boring 20% in but it was so much fun the entire time. like yes the tension was at an all time high all the time but it still takes place during high school? so it wasn't hard for me to keep reading. everything read as so natural and interesting to me and i couldn't get enough of it. the protagonists are both flawed and that shows in the way the plot flows over the course of the book, and all of it was so vulnerable and amazing and !!!

i'm the type of person to get overly picky when it comes to the ending of a book, but let me just say that you don't need to worry about the ending. i don't think it would upset anyone. i definitely think it would satisfy almost everyone who reads this book.

every topic in this book was handled with the utmost care and i don't know.. there's just this aesthetic in the book that i couldn't get enough of. like coming of age, fear, growing apart, etc. i'd compare this book to when we were infinite by kelly loy gilbert because of how they're both about fear of growing apart from friends, and also radio silence by alice oseman, simply because of how close the male and female protagonist are. (but, of course, they don't fall in love in radio silence. i will stop talking abou radio silence now before this turns into a radio silence review.)

i also picked this up because of the bi rep but who cares about that part. i'm kidding. rep was great. but don't expect peter and chase's relationship to make you super kilig because they had what i like to call a plot relationship. the relationship is formed for the plot so it's not the focus of the story, and it was only meant to convey a certain message or something. you'll get it when you read it.

overall, this book was a nice surprise. i was so afraid of reading it because of how low the review count is and how low the average rating is but let me tell you this right now. ignore the review count. ignore the average rating. this book is good!!

I picked this up because I love Rachel Lynn Solomon but once I realized it was YA I was ready to dnf. However, this turned into a heartbreakingly poignant novel about the absolute ANGST that comes with being a teenager, going through the world, and finding who you are. I related a little too much to these feelings despite being ten years out now.

Rachel Lynn Solomon is so talented, and I'm always speechless after reading her books. This one was no exception. Five brilliant stars from me. I wish I could give it more.
