This little book, like her diary, shows how incredible Frank was as a writer. I wish with all my heart that she had been able to grow up and write an obscene amount of books, because they would have all been incredible, but I am also just thankful that we have the writing from her that we do have. I believe that every person on this earth ought to read her essay titled "Give", which is included in this collection. It is incredibly powerful. All of her work is a challenge to us as a human race to stop taking the lives of other human beings. I just hope someday we learn.

As a young girl, Anne really had the talent for words and for expressing her thoughts and ideas through writing. I found her stories good, straightforward, and youthful. Had she lived longer, she surely would have improved her talent more.

I read this as a teen because I was more interested to know what Anne Frank wrote, than what happened to her exactly.

I adore everything Anne Frank related, so when my aunt brought me a copy of Annes' tales, which she wrote whilst in hiding, I became transfixed.

A beautiful collection of writing, by the worlds' most well known diary keeper in the 1900's.

These tales show that if she had lived, Anne would have become a most celebrated author.

Well, she did, even if she died in the process.

The first part of the book are of Anne's short stories. They are quite simple in nature, nothing really spectacular but what struck me is how much it reflected the thoughts and feelings she had as a teenager. From common teenage fears of being accepted and keeping up kind appearances to more profound ones of poverty, war, life and death.

The second part are more of her journal entries and themed essays that was initially unpublished. Here we see more of her wit, charm and natural sass. We see the depth of her understanding at such hard times and at the same time her innocence of hope and faith.

I would say that Anne couldn't have a successful fiction writer, she was too honest and self-aware to not give herself away but she would have been a great essayist and/or humorist and she is.

Anne Frank has been my hero since I first read her book in the 5th grade...this book only helps me further my love of her. Anne would have been an exceptional writer and I found great joy in her varied writings. Some of the writings within the book are from her diary but others are from Anne's vivid imagination. Her fables are pure joy and explain her love of nature and positive thinking. The world would have been a very different place if Anne Frank had lived and followed through on her path as a writer.

I forgot I had this alongside Anne Frank's Diary. This is good is you want to collect Holocaust memorabilia, or specifically Anne Frank mementos. This featured many entries from the diary which I had just read the week before as well as some short stories Anne wrote. I prefer the diary because these short stories easily show that they were written by teenager. Anne Frank was a talented writer, but it she was given the time she deserved, her stories would be spectacular. I can't rate this too much considered everything Anne wrote were meant to be private and she was a young girl whose life was cut too short. I'm glad to have read her original diary, but I don't think this particular publication was necessary. Anne Frank's words still resonate today and they should never be silenced.
