Girls take karma in their own hands and try to get even. It was a nice and easy read, very similar to lot of other teenage drama movies.

But why the hell it has to end like this??? After turning the last page I was like -

Seriously man, a book shouldn't end like this.

**3.5 stars**

I thought that some of the drama and conflicts were very cliche, but the writing still pulled me in. I wanted to know what happened even though I was not entirely impressed with the plot. I liked the diversity of personalities in the characters of the three girls and the idea of them coming together. However, the high school drama involved kind of turned me away.

This book also deals with heavy topics including non-consensual sex, attempted suicide, etc, but they weren't fully dealt with and were glossed over. I get that it is the first book in a trilogy, but I hoped that this could have been flushed out more.

Despite this, it was a fun read; I got through it really quickly! Plus, Alex is amazing <3

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the series, but I do have the next book so maybe when I'm in the mood for a contemporary read (which is rare).

I thought it was a very good book. I liked the story a lot and I loved how it switched perspectives. The ending was very surprising for me though.

This reminded me of The Perfectionists by Sara Shepard but I enjoyed that series much more.

I think the authors did a good job of generating sympathy for the 3 lead characters, even though they are essentially antiheroines since they are seeking revenge on people who have wronged them.

I liked the flashbacks which demonstrated what happened to the girls to make them want to seek revenge. I thought that the various ways they sought revenge were fairly weak and not very well thought out.

Still, an enjoyable (and very fast) read.

gotta love three badass girls getting revenge

Burn for Burn was such a fun and fast read and I found that I was on the edge of my seat throughout the story. The authors truly have a talent for making me simultaneously root for the girls in their quest for retaliation, while also making me feel guilty for what will soon be happening to the people they're retaliating against. Ngl there were so many times where I just wished the girls would put their revenge behind them purely because of how human their victims were at times. I love that all the characters, even the villains, were developed and not just caricatures of stereotypical mean girls/jocks, and I especially loved the Asian representation from my homegirl Lilia <3 This was an enjoyable read, but the ending
Spoilerwhich hints at Mary's possible magical/witchy abilities
was not what I was expected at all. I don't know if my heart could take anymore of the drama I'm sure is about to ensue in the rest of the series lol

Again, thank you, PulseIt, for the beautiful chance of reading such a loved book.

I would have said outstanding and good book, if I had thought so about it. But I do not. I have got no opinion of this book for several reasons:
It took too long to get into the story and when it got I had already lost the interest, but I finished it only because I heard it was a good book and it had happened to me before to read a book that 75% of it is boring and awful, but the final quarter is pure GOLD.
The final quarter was something and I tried to get into it, but I am not sure I couldn't.
I have not got any idea of what happened.
All I know about the book is that the three maine girls are Kat, Lillia and Mary. Who the hell is Reeve, Nadia and... the others? The multiple, TOO MANY, characters and point of views just made me so dizzy that I understood nothing from the book.
But skipping over the part when I repeat I understand nothing, I introduce you to the good part of understanding nothing.

I understood nothing, but a kind of fun nothing. I had fun reading this book, though I understood nothing. I am not sure what happened. Anyway, Jenny Han's writing is quite good. I mean, she's sometimes fast, sometimes slow, but every single author is like this. I am saying that she's good because I think her words had a certain motion/vibe that if I had read the book careful I would have understood it. That's it! I am not a careful reader.

You won’t know how entertaining, fun, messed up this book is until you read it.... wow!!!!
That was one hell of a rollercoaster

I enjoyed reading this book sooo muuuccchhh!!!! Three of them are my favorite omfg, 3 cool problematic girls. The ending though. I need the second book. NOW.

Love that it’s on an island
