I really liked the premise of the book but felt let down by the characters. It also felt like an outline of a book at times.

I really wanted to like this book. I love cozy, witchy books and I liked the initial premise of the story, but I just found myself a bit bored and there seemed to be a few plot holes. Not only that, but the timeline was confusing, I thought it felt like events took place over a few weeks but it was actually months? That, and interactions between characters felt stilted and didn’t always make sense. Unfortunately it missed the mark for me, but I suppose you could still consider it a cozy, witchy read. This book didn’t have a good flow. The story felt rushed at times and prolonged at times. Wasn’t my favorite and didn’t leave me wanting more.

This was light and fun and I enjoyed it a lot. It definitely needed a proofreader because there were a lot of words that didn't belong, or sentences that just didn't quite make sense. I also think the romance was totally unnecessary, and the story would have been better without it. Overall though, I liked it and will continue the series.
