Fractured Freedom

"No, I took the ugly, and it chained me down, but the beauty of you and world set me free. It's not a complete freedom. It's fractured and broken and wrecked."

Damn this book was spicy right off the bat!!

Shain really brought the heat in this one. This is a mafia, second chance, brothers best friend romance that delivered on some of my favorite k1nks (voyeurism, praise) and included some k1nks I have never read in books before (water play, wax play).

Dante is a total controlling alphahole who has it bad for Delilah, and these two just can't keep their hands off of each other.

There were plenty of secrets and action that kept the plot moving forward. Delilah and Izzy's relationship was messsssy. I will say that the love triangle might not be for everyone. It's not much of a triangle, but the twin sister does have feelings for the MMC and I know some find this to be a huge turn off. So keep in mind!

It was fun to get a little glimpse of Bastian and Morina from Shattered Vows.

I am dying to know what happens between Izzy and Cade

wow (cursing in review sorry)

I devoured this book literally started it on my lunch break and really didn’t want to go back to work. Awesome story line a few parts I wasn’t fond of but it was still ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Dante was the perfect mix between bad ass sex on a stick and perfect gentleman. Lilah was a good girl and never got into any trouble but always wanted to venture into the world of wild and crazy. I’m not gonna spoil anything cause OH MY OH MY IT IS SOOOOOO GOOD. Just go get get right now it is so worth it in every way. Okay on to another one of Shain’s books because now I’m addicted and have to get my fix lol

2⭐️ This was my least favorite of the series unfortunately. I found myself skimming a lot and I didn’t like the whole taboo aspect of Dante & Lilah (and her twin sister).
The nickname for Lilah was barf

Loved it!

This was my first read by the author and I truly enjoyed it!! Loved the chemistry, the plot, the steamy spicy scenes and the happily ever after. I want to indulge in the author's entire catalog!

I read the physical copy of this book and there were so many formatting errors. A cursory glance through the final proof would have been enough to catch them. The font switched in places, literally 12 words were squished together into one word--so that means there was a paragraph formatting error somewhere--and I reread two pages that had the font resized before realizing "oh, no--they're not trying to show that it's different dialogue between characters. This is actually just messed up copy." (Is this why it was a special edition? Was this the unedited first draft or something?)

Oh--And I know that I said I wasn't going to nitpick and roll my eyes but Goddamn this story was awful.

Just finished this one and while there were issues within the book, the underlying story was one I loved. Yes, I didn't understand the whole mob and last name situation and wished there was more development there but a love story was underneath all the holes.

I feel like the author was trying to touch on mental health, child loss, and family pressures but some other things that would have been great to read about got lost in the smoke.

I cannot deny that Dante loved Delilah and he did it in whatever way he felt he should and while she irked me so much of the book, she loved him too in the only way she could.

It wasn't a disappointing read I just wish there was a little more filler and not so much fluff.

Overall a decent romance book. Some parts of the plot were a bit confusing to me (the "Do I love him?" we get from the female lead seemed odd given how she has professed and thought about how much she loves him) and I wasn't sure about the weird love triangle between FL, ML, and FL's twin sister, but overall a decent alpha male takes charge romance novel.

This was an ok audiobook. Unfortunately, there wasn't much change for each character voice, which made it hard to follow in some parts.😕

I found the description for Liliah's depression quite accurate.👏

I found the constant back and forth of the 'will they won't they', rather repetitive and therefore boring! The steam was quite well written, but nothing mind-blowing.🔥

I felt quite relieved to get to the end of the book.🙈 I found Cade's attitude about Izzy far more interesting, if I'm honest.😉
