I base rating a book 5 stars on whether I cried or not. The ending of the book was heartbreakingly beautiful, so real and raw. This book challenges the natural tendency to fear and be closed off to love after experiencing heartbreak. It makes a case for diving head first into love, even despite the risk. I suggest reading the author's thank you section at the end of the book because she goes into her own life experiences that lead to the writing of this book which just makes it that much more special. I will say I almost gave it a 4.5 stars just based off the fact that the characters are finishing highschool and because of that I personally felt a little uncomfortable with the romantic parts as a 24 year old, so I think it would be an even greater read for that age group. Overall, this book is amazing and I love the inclusivity of the characters.

12/3/22 2.23pm - Fifi is the best woman I have ever seen, Martin is the boy-friend that I will want in my next life

“The sign outside says Wilshire Billiards, not Wilshire Make Out,”

12/3/22 2.49pm - Chapter 31. I feel like that I am seeing a real couple in front of me.

"It occurs to me that an unhappy ending for one person can mean a happy beginning for another, the way Mom’s unhappy ending with Dad led to Shirley’s happy beginning with him. I think about the way we’re all just starring in our own stories."

Okay. This book is not what I came for. I didn't come for heartbreak. But. It is good. It just tell us to live right now and don't see the ending. Like trust the process. Even though I felt Evie will still be dealing with it in the end. BUT. But at least he and X had a great romantic relationship. She found love again. She found the true thing of love.

I thought this book was going to be a light hearted romance. It wasn’t. I cried. A lot. Nicola Yoon should have to pay therapy I’m going to need after reading this.

I really wish I had not read reviews before reading this book. SO MANY GIVE TOO MUCH AWAY! So I will say this book was very good, so go into it with that confidence, but please don't read reviews because they'll spoil it for you without actually spoiling it for you.
