Louise "Lou" needs a roommate after her landlord hiked her rent. Desperate times means desperate measures and when she receives a possibility it puts her in front of Abel Russo. Abel is the top jock, hunk, and player at her college if the rumors are true.

Abel has never met a woman like Lou, her apartment is pink, she has a wicked personality and is absolutely beautiful. However Abel is not sure if the feelings he feels for her are the same. Lou is weary, she knows guys like Abel don't go for girls like her, or do they?

This is laugh out loud funny. The chemistry is off the charts and Lou is the top of friend I want by my side. This book hit every check mark I had. Definitely reread worthy.

Super cute and sweet, had me giggling away to myself like a crazy person at parts too. So nice to read a book with a lot of body positivity within it too from a plus-size girl.

This wasn’t bad. Well, maybe it was.

Unfortunately for this book, I read it right after The Roommate by Rosie Danan, and it showed me all the reasons I liked The Roommate more.

1. Clara and Josh had real motivations behind the decision to live with a stranger, Lou and Abel did as well but it was much less thought out and rarely mentioned.
2. Both books had the characters in such weird situations that somehow forced them together, but the ones in this book were not practical AT ALL. You will not dry hump someone in a grocery store, don’t care if it’s a romance book or movie or whatever that absolutely will not happen.
3. Lou is the epitome of a “hehe xD im so silly >_<“ girl and I hated it. It is not 2014, this book was not published in 2014, we need to allow characters to grow up.

Examples of the absolute worst things said by Lou:

1. “Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate, I just want to eat mashed potaters.”
2. “She sounds like me when I want snacks. Do you know that little kid snacks GIF? I feel it on a spiritual level.”
3. “I stand in the entry holding the box of donuts like the awkward unicorn I am.”
4. “What are werds?”

I rest my case. Lowkey considering being done with KU lol

I stopped reading because there are some side comments / jokes that are seriously concerning. The first red flag was a guy Lou meets at the coffee shop volunteering to be her “new gay bestie.” Felt very stereotypical. The second red flag that made me quit reading was a joke about child marriage, that also insinuates adult/minor relationships. I liked Lou (especially bc she is explicitly plus size and fat positive) and her chemistry with Abel but not enough to keep reading after that shit. And published in 2019??? Get it together. What the hell??

Easy read

This was a great lighthearted, easy to read book with some hilarious moments. I love the included epilogue and then second epilogue.

Loved It until the conflict came up. I didn't believe it, and didn't go with the Lead's personality or actions.
