I am still processing my thoughts but overall I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

This book openly discusses the following: Parental Abuse/Neglect, Death of a loved one, Trauma over past experiences.

I don't hate second-chance romance but it's not something I read all that often -- no, actually I do avoid it as best as I can. This book, however, called to me like a siren. The minute I stumbled upon it on Amazon, I knew I have to read it immediately.

As most second-chance romance books, I was prepared for an emotional story and lots of groveling. I am so thankful that the author proved me wrong. The story of Cope and Serena tugged at my heartstrings but not in a heavy emotional kind of way. I loved how the author eliminated new relationships from the mix and focused on highlighting the growth of these characters over the years they were apart.

Out of the Blue openly discusses about trauma and grief in different ways. It should be emotional and I don't know what magic Kathryn Nolan did but she managed to convey the entire book in a light manner. It also touched on social issues such as environmentalism and sexism. Though they are not the main topic so there weren't any drastic scenes about these, it was told through the values to which these characters uphold. It did shine light on the issue [of gender inequality] in the sports community by having a strong set of female characters and for choosing a feminist heroine.

I loved the character development and growth of both characters, not just from the years they were apart but even after they've settled their differences. Their journey to reconciliation was heartfelt and it made one wish that this kind of love can exist in the real world.

Probably because I don't read a lot about second-chance romance but this is by far the best one I've ever read and the story of Cope and Serena will stay with me for a very long time.

A lot more people should read this book. If you enjoy sports romance, with a bit of suspense and a whole lot of feminism, you'll appreciate this book. I can only hope that you'll enjoy this book as much as I did.

I love a good romance with a side of intrigue! And Kathryn didn’t disappoint with this swoon worthy book! We get all the heat and all tension. I love that Kathryn isn’t afraid to talk about the real world. She does it in a non preachy way that just pulls you in.

Cope is a tough, hot as heck bodyguard. Serena is a tough, take no prisoners pro surfer who is killing it in a “man’s” sport. These two melted my kindle with the heat and sexy times. They try to stay professional as Cope, whose job is to protect her, not romance her, but the memories of their past relationship is hard to ignore. As the suspense builds, so does the heat!

I read this in one day! I just couldn’t put it down. Once again Kathryn proves that she is a go to romance author that I have told all my friends about!

Every time I read a Kathryn Nolan book I’m sure it’s my favourite hero she’s ever written and this book is no different. Authors, take note: this is how you do second chance romance right.
This book was the perfect mix of humour, action, mystery, heart warming, sexy, fun, and spicy. I have literally no complaints about this book. It progressed beautifully and the love between Cope and Serena was so palpable it felt like I could reach through the page and touch it.
What an outstanding book. Uggggh. So good.

Another amazing book by Kathryn Nolan

Out of the Blue is an epic read. Serena & Cole's story is told in loving detail and it's great to read a story a out a female pro-surfer.

I adored this second chance romance! Cope and Serena were perfect together. I loved watching their relationship change and witnessing them fall back in love. It was angsty, steamy, and had both funny moments and a bit of mystery. I highly recommend it!

2nd chance. Female professional surfer is hired for a sponsorship deal that she hopes will help illuminate the gender inequality in sport. Instead she’s given the man who broke her heart as a bodyguard and embroiled in a whistleblowing situation that puts her in danger while also trying to win competitions.
Sexy & emotional. The reasons they split were important and not frivolous.
