Mary is a strong, well written character. Great story telling. You will root for her & cry for her. The system failed her but she wants better for herself & her future baby.
she actually did kill Alyssa! But when you find out why she did, a part of you will still feel for her. But talk about a surprise ending! The abuse she faced & resulting trauma makes you cry for her, but also hope that she will still be a good mom to her own "bean".

Tiffany D. Jackson’s books never fail to leave me speechless at the end. All that is going through my head as I try to type out this review is “Oh. Wow.”

Tiffany does an amazing job of taking hard hitting topics such as juvenile detention centers, group homes, foster homes, teen pregnancy, mental illness and other social justice issues (just to name a few in this book) and she weaves it into a story that is not only deep and compelling but has twists and turns with every chapter that you just don’t see coming. And specifically with Allegedly, she does an amazing job with the unreliable narrator which is not my favorite character trope/POV in books. The way she weaves the plot with what we’re learning and seeing through the main character’s (flawed) eyes and choices that they make, never fails to amaze me and I’m so sad to have finished all of the books she has written as of now (that I currently know of).

Wow. That’s really all I can say about this book. As a romantasy, romance, and thriller reader I picked this book up on a recommendation and boy am I glad I did. I thought I knew exactly what I was getting into but…just read it! Pay attention to trigger warnings!

This was a good read. Definitely had plot twists that I didn't see coming. I added more of Tiffany's books to my TBR.

I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down. I love the story being told from the viewpoint from an unreliable narrator, especially when it concerns events when she was just a baby herself.

I especially love the reveal that she actually did give the baby her pills to try to get her to stop crying. Because on on one hand, she definitely didn’t fully get it when she was nine, on the other hand the way she talks about it now says she still doesn’t get it and the thought of her raising a baby is concerning at best.
