I really liked this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a healthier eating plan! The author had great, even humorous, logical advice about the mental part of eating better. I liked that he never pushed a specific plan, that's what you get to decide, but gave tips on how to stick with it. Oh, and this ebook is free on Amazon!
More Common Sense Than Most
A common sense approach to eating and weight management. My only criticism is that it’s open to wide interpretation and for people like me with little self control it may not be enough. The author has a coaching program worth looking into and that may be the best option for me.

Summary of this book: “just don’t binge lol”
I’m not entirely sure how to feel. On one hand, there were a few quotes that stuck out to me and made me evaluate how I was thinking about food and failure. On the other hand, this book was a giant mess.
It could have easily been only 50 pages long. Every chapter ended with an advertisement. Towards the end, some chapters were just advertisements! It’s not really well-written. It feels like someone who is trying to be a motivational speaker, but he fails by using CAPITALIZED WORDS every other sentence and just not really seeming professional.

It's kind of funny for me to read another weight loss book, having already lost 170 pounds and having written my own weight loss book, but this one seemed a little different so I decided to give it a try. While I did do my own successful diet, stress the last few weeks has caused me to revert a little bit to my bingey days, hence reading this book.
While it's kind of funny that the main thesis of the book is "well, just don't do the thing", it's actually backed up with examples and reasoning that may help some folks get their diets back on track. I did quite like that the author emphasizes that it's a life change rather than a quick fix, and that it requires 100% commitment, which has absolutely been true in my experience.
If you have a very specific problem with binge eating while dieting, I would recommend giving this a chance at least. It will at least make you re-think some of your choices, and differentiate your own voice vs. "The Pig's" voice, as the author calls it. If you're struggling on your diet, I'd give it a shot.

My demon wins more times than id care to admit. But i am trying to learn new ways to cage it forever. An interesting concept. Ask me again in a year if the book helped me!
“You do not have cravings - your pig does! So when you feel one coming on, just say: I will never eat pig slop again! Then move on to a more valuable way to spend your time and energy, or a healthier way to nourish your body, mind, and soul.”
My one sentence summary: Personify food cravings then dominate and deny that personification through pure willpower and positive thinking.
This doesn't seem like some revolutionary new approach lol. Reads like a book version of a shouting infomercial and then it tops it off with a pitches for special monthly classes you can take from this guy and other books of his that will obviously fix other aspects of your life lol.
Book puts a few flags on some of the modern willpower studies, mental health and wider physiological conditions that can contribute to eating disorders.... and then just says screw all that other science I'm a phd and I say stomp it all with willpower and positive thinking.
Lastly, any doubt you might have about this guy's methods are just part of that same personification of food cravings and obviously aren't to be trusted or listened too or truly investigated... That stuff cracked me up, that is some weird cult leader stuff lol. I have a suspicion that the in person classes do not come cheap lol.
Not a fan. Rubbed me the wrong way on multiple levels and seems a ridiculous oversimplification, like
most all self help books I've read
