Unbelievable.

While some chapters were well written, most of the content felt like Lipton blurted out his personal eureka moment(s). Just thought the presentation of ideas weren't "scientific" or cohesive enough for a book that's attempting to explain how science and "energy" - and to an extend, spirituality - are all connected.

I thought this book was interesting - although controversial and seen by some as quackery. It is a crash course in philosophy, science, & biology with a little bit of psychology thrown in far too late. I really think the material was interesting, but the problem was that the authors spends too much time detailing the scientific findings and leaves very little time for the actual implications of all of it. What he calls a "shift in perspective" - something to do with the idea that proteins in cells code behavior rather than genetics - could have far reaching implications. But as I said, they really aren't explored in depth. The book could easily be 4 stars if he collaborated with a great clinical psychologist who could help him with the application element of his findings.

The first half of the book is like a biology text book and gets a bit (a lot) boring but the last half dealing with physics is fascinating. His theory, that cells are sentient beings with a purpose to their life, is interesting. His science is iffy and unreliable but it was still a good read. Those who enjoy the Ender series would enjoy this.

Second chapter is a little dense. But more than worth sticking through it. Dr. Bruce Lipton is baby manses

There are some outdated and incorrect assertions (even in the 2015 updates), but the general theme of the book is interesting and worth further study. Not much practical (so what do I do about this?) information.
Author is also an anti-vaxxer.

I was mostly listening to this as audio when driving, though I had the paperback too for the pictures. The science stuff is a bit boring but preferable to the "gee, gosh, brilliant me" tone of the first 40 pages. Maybe it redeems itself later on but I'm just not feeling it. And now reading the reviews, I got the gist and don't need to waste my time.

This book is an example of prioritizing breadth over depth. I wish more time could have been spent on each of the topics discussed. I found myself getting very interested in something, only for the subject to switch or for a simplistic example to be given that distracted from the main point at hand. I listened to the audiobook, and there were no chapters which made it incredibly difficult to follow. It felt like I has listening to a lecture rather than a book.

I want to be clear- I don't doubt the author's credentials or expertise in this topic. My issue lies more with the structure and voice of the book.
