Honestly I wasn't expecting all this when I added this book to my Kindle. Christ, things just kept happening and I was so confused on how we got here. The beginning had me but somewhere in the middle I got confused and all these plot twist happened. It was a great pallet cleaner from the romances I've been reading and I'll probably read the second one tbh.

Okay, wow, I did not expect to give this book this much. I did not expect it to leave me mouth-open, gaping. I had to turn off the music and just sit there. I have work tomorrow—waking up at 5am—but I stayed up just to finish this. It was amazing.
Very well done. It’s super light, it cuts to the chase, and there’s no dragging at all. I really hate dragging in thrillers—it makes me DNF even good books. But this one? Not one boring second. I flew through it in like two hours, maybe less. It’s fun, wild, and gave me total Love Quinn and Joe vibes (if you know, you know).
I usually guess twists, but this one actually got me. And the characters? So layered. My feelings about them kept shifting the entire time. It’s unhinged in the best way—my absolute favorite kind of thriller. I’m definitely reading more from this author. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.
I'm sorry but WHAT DID I JUST READ? I was honestly really hating this to start but wow. Chef's kiss. I immediately started on the next one. The twists were crazy. Very well done. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

I don't know why this book has so many bad reviews. It is clearly not reaching the correct audience. Yes, there are a lot of reveals/twists in the last 20% of the book, and yes some of them include dark moments, but this book isn't dark. Or at least not dark romance dark. It would be a nice thriller for a dark romance reader as a pallette cleanser, though. The twist that a lot of the bad reviews seem to have a problem with (and claim it is not supported by the actions of the characters in the first 80% of the book), I predicted. I could not have predicted it if it wasn't foreshadowed! But there was a major twist that I did not see coming! This was a good time, and I was here for it. You read this for the vibes, not the writing. I've already started the second book.
Okay, I had a tough time with this rating because honestly I was pretty unimpressed with the majority of this book (mostly because the characters are so unlikeable) but holy shit that twist! I literally just sat here with my jaw dropped for the last few chapters because I was shook.
