Hot Firefighter

I'm enjoying reading this series. I was glad when McKennon got himself together. This book was definitely entertaining, well written and a page turner. I loved Royal's character she was strong and knew what she wanted. I loved the book!!

They saved each other in more ways than one

When Royal King witnessed firefighter McKennon Carter's motorcycle accident in the predawn hours and sat with him until help came, they felt a connection to each other that could not be resisted. Ro gave Mack the strength to hang on when he just wanted to succumb to the darkness. He has no good reason to fight to live. She was his angel who could have just called 911 and gone on about her way but she stayed to provide him comfort and sat with him for days on end at the hospital.

Being the black sheep of her well to do and successful family, Royal marched to the beat of a different drummer. She wanted to go her own way and not follow in the footsteps of her family. It was their loss because Ro ended up making a family of her choosing. She has three girlfriends who were ride or die and had her back whenever she needed them. But she was tired of always being relegated to the friends zone. She wanted a true love like her best friend Payton and her "Red Scot" Bradyn. She thought she found a true love in Mack but found out he was holding a secret that broke her heart.

Mack had a thoroughly selfish and self-absorbed fiancee, who only used Mack for her social media popularity. On the outside, they looked to be the perfect beautiful couple but on the inside, it was a loveless relationship. Mack was having an internal battle with himself to finally do the things he wanted to do for himself and not what was expected of him to do as he had done all of his life. Thank goodness he made the right one because I wanted to knock some sense into him and beat the hell out of that beotch who called herself being his fiancee.

Twyla, as usual, wrote a wonderful follow up of the girls in the Curvy Girls' Club. I just love their relationship with each other. That Mia is a trip and I can see how she is having second thoughts about her life. I so want Kennedy to find her HEA as well. I can't wait to read more about these women of the Curvy Girls' Club. This was a wonderful read. I thoroughly enjoyed the drama in the story and how it played out.

I was excited for this one because I loooved the first book so much. I liked the friend group, and I loved seeing Peyton and Brayden again... But I just couldn't like the main couple for this book.

I know the MMCs fiancee isn't that great, but he still kinda emotionally (later physically) cheated on her and I didn't like that. He also knew from the first meeting that the FMC had a bad experience on always being the side woman and he still goes and HIDES the fact he was engaged?!? And he still goes for her later on??! I mean I get his trauma but idk the book seemed so fast paced and there really wasn't any build up on both the characters pasts so I didn't feel any connection to the couple as individuals. I kept getting shocked when we see the MMC again and he STILL hasn't broken it off with the fiancee. He's so wishy washy and only decided to leave her ON THEIR WEDDING DAY. There also seemed way to many 3rd act conflicts, which were quickly and neatly fixed at the end.

Sadly didn't enjoy this book that much. I'm not rlly interested in Mia's book as well (the next book), but really want to read Kennedy's! Too bad she doesn't have one last I checked on gr.

I loved this story!

I'm really digging how Twyla is finding a way to show how strong her heros are but also how vulnerable they can be. It's a beautiful balance that I'm sure most men feel but aren't willing or able to show/share. Great work, lady! I love this series! I can't wait for Mia and Kennedy's stories!

Absolutely loved this story

Love born out of a tragic event. Royal gives McKennon hope has help arrives, he calls her is angel. However things left unsaid bring this budding friendship to a screeching halt. Can McKennon get his angel back?

A really good read.
