If this doesn’t get turned into a Hallmark movie!!

I listened to The Cinnamon Spice Inn on audiobook and it was just so cute! The narrator, Andi Eloise, did a fantastic job with the narration. If you love a small town second chance romances, you’re going to love this one!

I especially loved the cozy fall vibes, it almost felt like a holiday romance even though the only holiday mentioned in the book is Halloween. There’s even a small mystery running through the story that gave it a fun extra layer, but at its heart, this is a romance through and through. The banter, the chemistry, the “Hallmark movie in book form” energy had me hooked. I ended up finishing it in a single day because every time I had to stop, all I could think about was what would happen next. Adorable and absolutely worth picking up if you’re in the mood for a sweet, fall themed, and fun romance.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for sending this ALC for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This book was so cozy! Autumn is my favourite season, so to be in a lake-side inn as the leaves are turning is a dream. I found Zach and Madison believable as a couple, and it was clear how much they yearned for each other. I also liked their shared history; the memories were really nostalgic and endearing.

I always find the miscommunication trope tricky, but I found this particularly niggly because it didn’t seem to stem from anything besides their personalities. That said, they were able to talk through it eventually, so all’s well that ends well.

I am *very* excited for the next book; winter? Liam? I’m there 🎄❄️

This book follows Madison and Zach, the couple everyone thought would be together forever in Maple Falls, reuniting years later. Madison has moved to NYC for a new life and career and is called back to Maple Falls by a letter asking her to help fix her family’s inn. All this time Zach has remained in Maple Falls and is your typical small town boy next door handyman who’s also helping with fixing the place. Feelings start to stir again between them and they try to navigate this while Madison works on saving her family’s inn. Will they get their second chance and will it last this time?

I will say, the atmosphere of this book was excellent! I love small town cozy autumn feel and loved that this took place in October! I also enjoyed the nosy townspeople and the side characters. I wanted all the drinks and pastries!

What I got stuck on was how easily the miscommunications could have been resolved. It unfortunately detracted from the romance for me. I think Madison and Zach are lovable, but there were too many misunderstandings that I knew could have been resolved with a clear conversation. That being said, I still think that had their cute moments and it was obvious how much they cared for each other even when they couldn’t voice it.

I did see the sneak peak for the next book and am intrigued about that! I will definitely be continuing the series for them!

She left without notice. They grew apart. Her family’s inn is in trouble but her life is in the city. When she returns, her doesn’t expect it.

I went in with low expectations and I’m positive that if it hadn’t been an audiobook that I could listen to in a day, I would’ve DNFd.

The vibes were fine and kinda cozy but so much felt surface level and forced, unfortunately. I never really felt the chemistry between the characters even though it was second chance so the chemistry should’ve been OFF THE CHARTS.

The issues they had were just miscommunication after miscommunication. And I don’t hate the miscommunication if it makes sense, but this was the annoying kind, unfortunately.

I wasn’t even invested in the story until about 88% in and the FMC had an actual conflict to solve but even that was….disjointed.

I also wish the narration had been dual because it was difficult to distinguish the POVs given it’s in 3rd person.

Overall, I sadly don’t recommend this book. Thank you NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This book feels and looks like fall! The descriptions and the whole atmosphere was on point! I was hungry as I was reading about all the food! This book was so cozy and it felt like I was home! The author truly understands how to tell a story that makes you root for the main characters! I truly felt for Madison and why she left! Another aspect I really enjoyed was the fact that it was dual POV! We got both Madison and Zack! Which made me enjoy it even more knowing what was going on inside their heads! However, I was frustrated with Madison because she is described to be a straight shooter and was direct but in fact she wasn’t! She was not open and more upfront with Zack! She was avoid him which I did find a bit frustrating when I was reading! However, besides that I had so much fun reading this charming and autumnal romance book!

Thank you to Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read this arc!

The Cinnamon Spice Inn by Harper Graham is a second chance romance that follows Madison and Zach. Madison recently came to visit to help her family's Inn after a mysterious note showed up in her apartment in New York City. During her visit she sees her ex-boyfriend Zach again, who is still the handsome small town boy she left after seeing him with another woman. Madison and Zach must work together to revamp the Inn so the town can get back on track.

What did I think? I loved the cute fall vibes, I give it top marks for that. I also read this book in what I consider to be technically one sitting. I enjoyed myself but sometimes it was like reading a horny teenager's journal which is hilarious and entertaining but I don't know if it was what the book intended. The two main characters were incapable of having a conversation without wanting to jump each other's bones. To be honest, it was a little distracting. I wish there was more substance between them other than they think the other person is hot. But I want to reiterate, I had a great time reading this book.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy fall vibes as it gives that so much. I do want to point out that the book was also just one big misunderstanding plot so if you don't like misunderstandings this is not for you but if you like them... boy will you love this book! I would also not recommend this book to anyone looking for high stakes, this is a cozy book.

I want to take a second to praise the narrators. I enjoyed them a lot but I did wish it was a duet rather than the male narrator doing the voice of the woman and the woman doing the voice of the male narrator in their chapters. I still want to say that they were both great, I just wished they were great together.

Tropes: misunderstanding, small town, second chance, rivals to lovers, forced proximity, childhood sweethearts

Triggers: death of a parent (mentioned)

received an ALC from netgalley for this book's audiobook. thank you for the chance!

the cinnamon spice inn? more like the miscommunication inn! I have to say, the miscommunication/misunderstanding trope isn't my thing, especially when it's done multiple times in a book. I think I liked the overall plot but the misunderstandings were kind of a lot. they really need to learn how to communicate. both madison and zach are at fault here!

the plot reminded me of a hallmark movie—big city girl comes back to her small hometown and has multiple run-ins with the boy she used to have a thing with. I liked how there was the mystery of who sent the letter to madison in the first place.

overall, it was a fine listen. maple falls is a cute town and I would be willing to try other books in this series!

I loved this story- second chance romance and the small town with the fall/ Halloween feel was exactly what I needed. Gave me Rory/Jess vibes from Gilmore Girls if they got a second chance.

Cinnamon spice and everything nice!  Such a great way to start getting into the fall season. Small town. Second chance romance. Madison & Zach’s story started when they were young. I do have to say that Gram was one of my favorite in the book. Her witty self and big heart. Highly recommend especially for fall reading while cozy under a blanket with something hot to drink.

Thank You NetGalley for this arc for my honest review.
