The narrator is going on my list of favourites and he once again did an awesome job of the book. This book is probably one of my favs of the 3 of this trilogy and brought back a lot of memories of my teen and parent years. Perfect ending too IMHO.

This book was definitely slow, but it was intense the entire time. Every page was fraught with tension and you never knew what was going to happen. I loved the growth of Tad and Blade especially, but every character learned valuable lessons throughout this book and I think that's a very important part of a series like this.

Honestly, I can't think of anything to say about this book, and trilogy as a whole, except that I loved it and it is definitely one of my favorite fantasy series I've read so far. Mercedes Lackey has an immensely creative mind and she's very good at executing her stories.

What a disappointment. It's never a good sign when a series switches focus to the protagonist's children - the only book that's pulled it off that I can think of this I can think of is Abhorsen, honestly. But still, even though I was struggling to connect with Tad and Blade, when this book started to show signs of being another weird out-of-genre experience I was on board. Sign me up for survival horror fantasy!

But ultimately I just didn't care enough about either character to worry about their survival. Both Tad and Blade were just too perfect in every way. And I genuinely hated Amberdrake here. He's so overbearing and overprotective, and acts like he's completely justified. Zhaneel and Winterhart are sidelined AGAIN as Drake and Skan swoop in to save the day in the end - booooring. And while I agreed with her at times, Blade's constant whinging about her parents got really grating really quickly.

I'm beyond disappointed, especially after how much I loved The White Gryphon. The Silver Gryphon had massive potential squandered on a generally uninteresting and unlikeable cast.

I really enjoyed this book . I honestly don`t understand why this author is not read more often and the we don`t hear about it more often . I love that the main characters in the last book came back for this story , but were not the entire story . It was not a hero tail told again with the same hero , but more the making of a new hero . I wish that we had more books of this world as I can`t seem to get enough of it .

Good but has some pretty glaring issues. The one that offended me the most was the very convenient reason they couldn't use kechara to contact the kids, like come on. So lazy

I was so excited to read about a human-gryphon duo doing research and surviving in the wilderness for 6 months, but instead we just get hundreds of pages of them walking around lost in the woods. A very big let down indead.
