I think Sunny would have been better of choosing Jayden over Magnus. Magnus is not a very good boyfriend and Jayden is a much better match for Sunny. Also Rayne continues to be selfish and unlikeable. While looking forward to finding out what happens in the next book I am not looking forward to suffering through it from Rayne's perspective.

If you were wanting more Sunny in this book - YOU GOT IT.

This addition to the Blood Coven Vampires series follows Sunny (but don't worry, Rayne is still kicking!). This time around, Magnus has to get a blood mate - and guess what? It's not Sunny.

Sunny, who's madly in love with Magnus, and her trusty sister Rayne have to work hard to try to get Magnus back to Sunny and away from this blood mate. Will they do it? I guess you'll have to read to find out...

I really loved this book, it helps that Sunny is my favourite out of the two girls but I also really enjoyed the adventure and drama within this novel. It's a big step up from the last novel in my opinion. This book hooks me instantly, made me not want to stop reading it, and desire more from Mari Mancusi ASAP.

This book had it's faults - Sunny is definitely in love with Magnus, but I doubted his love for her. While Sunny's actions and thoughts show how deeply in love she is, Magnus barely seems like she has the time of day (despite expressing his feelings).

Overall, this young adult novel was everything I wanted (minus the Magnus fault, but hey we can't have everything we want). It's silly, cute and totally unrealistic - but that's what I want in a silly, YA vampire novel that's filled with cute moments and teenage drama. Mari shows her true skill at writing as a teenage which makes this book even more "believable" within it's realm. That helps this quick read continue moving at a super fast pace and become utterly addicting - what teenager didn't think like Sunny and Rayne?

Five out of five stars.

Ok - not the ending I was expecting - seriously???
I enjoyed this book - even though I found Sunny particularly frustrating and Rayne & Magnus just downright horrible. They totally did not behave how I would have expected them - especially after what they've all been through together in the last few books.
The introduction of Jayden is interesting too - bet we haven't seen the last of him.

Creo que cada vez que terminé uno de estos libros diré lo mismo, pero sinceramente este ha sido el que más que ha gustado hasta ahora, más que todo por Jayden. Duuudee! Full in love con ese pana. En fin, creo que Sun no deja de ser a little silly, pero Rayne no le lleva mucho que digamos. De este libro en particular, en cuanto a personajes, mis preferidos fueron: Jayden (of course

Plot: I haven't gotten back to the series for awhile, so when I saw it on the shelf, I grabbed it before anyone could take it. I was absolutely glad I did because this series continues to not disappoint. When I saw that it was in Sunny's view, I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I was so used to reading Rayne's POV. However, I did like Sunny's view because it was nice to see a human's POV in a vampire series that doesn't want to be a vampire, but feels in some situations that she was when she was battling against vampires. Her name does explain her, she finds the good in people and is determined to make her and Magnus' relationship bright up despite what is happening. I will say that I didn't like the constant "likes" and the "totallys" and all the teenage lingo. I'm a teenager, but I don't like when an author tries to make up lingo for their characters. We don't all talk like that. I haven't heard anyone talk in text for a few years now. But, I did like the plot and Sunny's view really made things interesting, including when she branches off to the theater where she meets a cast playing Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'.

Characters: Sunny-Sunny was a great character for this installment. I couldn't help but be drawn into her and Magnus' relationship. It was refreshing to see that she didn't want to be a vampire, but she also didn't want to be old and wrinkled while Magnus was still young. Sunny was great at finding the good at people and knowing when something was going on.
Rayne-I will admit, I was kind of disappointed in Rayne this time around. She kept bailing on her own sister to gamble, what? I wasn't too fond when I read Rayne coming in the scene. She only seemed to care if what she had to do would benefit her. By the end, I did warm up to her and saw what I usually love in Rayne, but I thought it was pitiful that I had to wait until after everything transpired to see the good in Rayne.
Magnus-Magnus was....oh, I honestly don't know. I loved him most of the time, but some things he said to Sunny, I gaped at. I did love how sweet and romantic he was when he talked about his love for Sunny. But, I couldn't stand him when he didn't believe Sunny or at least give her a chance to explain anything. He rather side with someone he barely knows than the girl he loves.
Jayden-Oh, you will love Jayden! I surely did. I can't give away too much without revealing spoilers, but he will definitely be in the series more and I am so glad. He is romantic and the sweetest guy! I loved when him and Sunny would hang out. I know some people would probably hate him, but I can't wait to see how his and Sunny's relationship develops.

Cover: I loved the cover on this. I was used to the old covers from the previous books, but these are stunning. I don't know who the cover is suppose to be of, maybe Sunny (even though she has blonde hair) or Jane. But, the cover is lovely, as well as the others.

Overall Rating: I give this book a three out of four. I love this series and can not wait to read Night School, but the lingo really gets to me. The characters made the book though and I would love to read more in Sunny's POV.

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha

This instalment in the Blood Coven series has Sunny as the narrator, like the first book. I have to say, I think I prefer Rayne's narrative, because Sunny is a little whiny and a little bit childish at times. Although, having said this, there were some points in the book that I really enjoyed reading, especially when Sunny was having a pillow fight with Stormy. But I won't spoil who Stormy is.
The events in this book, are once again, completely unbelievable. I don't think I really realised it until the end of Bad Blood, but the things that happen are just silly and would never ever happen, even if vampires were real. And yet, that's what makes these books such good reads. They would never happen, yet they're written as if they could have happened. And I believe them, a little.
Mancusi is very good at writing in a teenage voice. She uses just the right amount of sarcasm, and teenager-ness, but she makes sure that she uses maturity in her writing too, just to make sure that Sunny doesn't come across as just some silly, shallow teenager. In fact, she's quite the opposite. Though some of her actions in this book are dumb, and you end up screaming at her in your head, telling her what she should have done, you always know that she'll be able to get out of any tricky situations she may find herself in. Even though she's not the Vampire Slayer, she is strong, and a great character.
Overall, Bad Blood was a great quick read. Most of what happened was quite predictable, and I managed to guess what was going to happen before it happened, which I'm not very good at doing, but I still enjoyed it. The one twist at the end though, I wasn't expecting at all, and now I'm eager to read the next book, just to find out what on earth is going on. I can't wait!

Let me start of by saying I could not be bothered to read the 2 previous books. Spared myself the torture.
