Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks is a book with two different POV. I liked how each POV had several chapters telling their storyline. Colby, farmer, former musician, goes on vacation and falls in love with Morgan. She is a music major headed to Nashville after her vacation with friends. Sparks keeps their falling in love pure. Colby had several chapters then Beverly told her story and back to Colby etc. Beverly is an abused wife and escapes with her 6 yr old son. This side of the story reminded me his other book Safe Haven. After reading Beverly’s first round of chapters I was wondering where she fit in with Colby. Then I figured it out and guessed almost the entire ending. Not a favorite of Sparks reads but still a fan and will continue to read his books. Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for ARC book in return for my opinion.

It was a nice light read, I felt it could have been a little shorter.

Loved this book! I loved the characters, and the story immediately drew me in. Definitely one that I didn't want to put down because I wanted to know what was going to happen but at the same time, I didn't want it to end so wanted to read slowly and prolong it.

You can tell that Nicholas got a divorce, and ever since his books haven’t been the same. It was an okay book, and i don’t know if its because I’m an adult now or what? His books just don’t hit the same way they used to. Kind of sad about that.

Really a 3.5
Not my favorite of his books. But I did enjoy how the stories overlapped. I love the true love aspect as well, which is always a classic in his books. At first I was confused with the two story lines, but then it all started to make sense. The resolution was a perfect ending and really sealed the love story for me.

Beverly’s parts were worthwhile, but Colby’s parts were filler - unfortunately, Colby was more than half the book

I used to like Nicholas Sparks, and I have some friends who always give me a hard time for defending him at times. This was my first book I’ve read of his for awhile and… unfortunately, I think my friends are right. In high school and my early twenties I could get behind his work, but it’s so formulaic and unrealistic. I enjoyed the look at mental health disorders, but it was predictable. Ultimately, I couldn’t get past the idea that two people fell in love in such a short amount of time. That on top of the unrealistic rise to fame, meh…. I finished this book and wanted to throw it across the room. I’m just no longer the intended audience I suppose and I’m fine with that.
