It was okay, I did enjoy reading it and the plot twist near the end caught me off guard. I did guess the other one pretty early though (without spoiling it, the one concerning Maz).
However, I did find Dani a bit one note and irritating at times. Thankfully though, her arc redeemed her a bit and she showed significant growth by the end. This sadly came too late for me, and I get that her revenge story is the premise of the book but it was mostly telling and not showing. Also, the revenge plots weren't satisfying at all sadly, which is the whole premise of the book.
Also, some of the side characters felt... lacking for me? Outside of the core trio (and maybe Dani's father at a push) they didn't feel fully fleshed out.
On a positive note, I loved Dani and Noor's dynamic.
The pacing was very slow too, but I didn't mind that too much. It just threw me when it was all wrapped up in the space of around 40 pages??
I did appreciate the message of this story though and the epilogue showing what the characters went on to do later was nice. The world was immersive too, but sadly the overall reading experience didn't leave me feeling satisfied.

This book made me officially realize I am just not one of the hate to love girlies. I really thought it wasn't fully thought out. All the fmc wanted was revenge, and that's all she talked about for 90% of the book. Her actions didn't show that in my opinion. It was very much tell and not show. The development of all the side characters was weak, in my opinion. I did enjoy the setting, though, and I've always enjoyed Jinn stories. This one just didn't give enough.

Underrated book for sure. If you want a FMC hellbent on revenge you will love this for she is genuinely wrath.
