What in the hell is this book? I’m just writing off this author as a whole. This romance isn’t a romance and this “alpha” is the worst composition of a male character. He has no brain. At all. Tf…
I’m tired of wasting my free hours on her crap writing. Anyone who thinks this is good has no idea how good romances are written and are supportive of toxic behaviors and relationships.

It was hard for me to rate and review this book. I read the first chapter and 1-clicked it. The characters seemed fun, playful, and intelligent. As I got further into the book...there were formatting issues, American characters that would say very non-American things (Author is Australian), and at one point a supposedly educated character said 'would of'. There were also some fantastical situations that were hard to believe. And to top that off... I was sometimes annoyed at and by the characters. I really don't know what this says about me buuuut I still liked the book. I enjoyed the storyline and it didn't bore me. With some major tweeks, I think this Author has talent. I can't really say I'd recommend it but I did finish it so that's says something.

The introduction we got to the male lead left a very nasty taste in my mouth. He gave me major chauvinist vibes, not my cup of tea. The female lead was way too indecisive and width-washy for me. Before she made a single decision, she went back and forth at least twice, even though we all knew what she would end up doing. Two unlikeable characters my opinion.

Spice scenes were there but the plot wasn't it for me...
Plot:
Cam and Ashley meet in Vegas and have a wild one-night stand. He gets her number but loses his phone. Flash forward 5 years and Ashley is starting her residency program at an LA hospital. Cam works at the same hospital and things rekindle. She is working at an exclusive gentleman's club on the side.
One thing I did notice is that I think the book is supposed to be in the US but the characters definitely use the Queen's English. I love TL Swan and this book was good, but the plot was perhaps not for me.
Characters:
I loved where it started but man was I really disappointed in both of the them by the end (for different reasons). Cam is a richy, rich surgeon who teaches at the hospital for Ashley's program. He is entitled, disconnected, and stubborn. He lives a bachelor lifestyle and quite frankly is quite self-centered. Ashley is intelligent professionally but emotionally immature. I think I hoped for a stronger FMC but I believe she is a realistic representation of what we see with many women in relationships.
Narrator(s):
Dual narration which is always my preferred. It keeps it interesting! Narrators are Elena Wolfe and Stephen Dexter. Stephen does a decent Aussie accent and Elena has a pleasant voice

And let me be clear, I don't mind the pregnancy trope or secret baby trope. BUT... I do not like to see the FMC's take back crappy MMC's without a decent amount of grovelling! I'm sorry, if someone tried to have my kid taken from me, it would take a lot longer than 9 weeks to get over it!Characters:

Oh no! This book started out so well! I loved the MC’s as well as the side characters. HOWEVER, around the 60% mark, the MMC just flipped a switch and turned into such a bratty, controlling a*hole. Granted, the FMC should have done certain things differently as well, but the MMC’s behaviour was, in my opinion, unforgivable. If anything, I wish he had groveled a lot more. Overall a great book, and if it hadn’t been for that 20-30% of the book, it would have been a definite 5 star read for me.
