It was a good, lighthearted read and I did enjoy it. I liked the characters and found I could sympathise with them. However, whilst I liked the ending, it did feel as though it ended with a lot of unanswered questions and downplayed reactions by certain characters.

That book is TERRIBLE I didn’t finish reading it and I won’t like WTF the female characters are the worst I’ve never heard of a way to be bad as ketty and her other sister they are not in need for money they need to get a therapist and please why I can’t have a decent description of character like I should imagine them as the girls from pride and prejudice or what???? The writer will fool you by putting some quotes from Jane Austen trust me I almost believe that she didn’t read any of her works before and randomly put those quotes . It was one of the hardest 25 chapters I’ve read in my entire life .

Jo said it best, but truly, just give me all the books about older siblings that tap into our worst traits but also illustrate with empathy and kindness what psychologically makes us what we are! Kitty was so, so great, prickly and mercenary and wonderful, as was Radcliffe, I couldn’t even be all that upset when I realized how close I was to the end of the book and there wasn’t yet any kissing. A testament to the form that worked well for me! Just great all around. And really enjoyed the little glimpses into other perspectives, too—it makes me all the more excited to see the books to come.

It was a cute, easy read but there was nothing spectacular about the story. I enjoyed that Kitty was up front about the fortune hunting and explained why it was necessary for women at that time. However, the best parts of the romance were missing. It was almost the end of the book before they realized their feelings.

Avevo aspettative basse, però si è rivelato un libro molto carino.
Se state cercando un romanzo che si concentri esclusivamente sulla storia d’amore dei due protagonisti, allora questo libro non fa per voi.
Kitty e James insieme sono adorabili, hanno molta chimica e, cosa più importante, all’inizio si odiano (sì, è un enemies to lovers, uno dei mie trope preferiti).
Il romanzo non si concentra molto sulla loro storia d’amore, che viene messa un po’ in secondo piano, ma più sulle vicende di Kitty per salvare la famiglia.
Non sono una grande fan dei libri che si concentrano solo sul lato romantico ed è per questo che sono riuscita ad apprezzare questo libro, quando di solito non riesco mai a finire un romanzo di questo genere.
Kitty e James si sono innamorati gradualmente, non solo delle loro parti belle ma soprattutto di quelle “brutte”.
Fin dall’inizio non ci sono state maschere tra di loro e questo ha fatto sì che non ci fosse un esagerato dramma verso la fine (odio quando i problemi si protraggono per capitoli). La loro storia d’amore tiene incollata alle pagine, sono talmente testardi che continuano a negare i loro sentimenti quasi fino alla fine.
Ammetto che avrei preferito un capitolo extra o un epilogo decente, però tutto sommato è andata meglio di quanto mi aspettassi.
Il libro è scritto bene, molto scorrevole, però il resto dei personaggi è proprio stupido, non se ne salva uno!
Cecily poi, la sorella di Kitty, era una lagna insopportabile.
Se cercate un libro in cui i protagonisti non si innamorano in 20 pagine allora questo fa per voi, se volete qualcosa di super sdolcinato vi consiglio di starne alla larga.
