Why did I read the second one? Why, just why? I have never read such a bad book; such a bad series. I’m not going to waste my money on the third book. This series is fucking disgusting.

1. The. Geography. Is. Bad.

"“We’re going to New Zealand? Couldn’t you choose a different country, like, I don’t know… Dubai?”
I turn to face her. “And where do you think they’ll look first, Tate?” [...]
“And besides,” I add, “I haven’t even heard of New Zealand. I doubt Bishop has."

"“Have you decided where we’re going next?” [...]
“Mmmm, Milan?”
“Spain?” I ask, shocked."

Yes, I'm shocked aswell. You're telling she's never heard about New Zealand - or Italy?
I'm not sure if it's intentional to portray that whole ignorant American girl image or if they just don't know it.

2. Hector Hayes saying he doesn't condone rape makes no sense considering the initiation process consisting of rape and murder.

Hold on tight! From the very first chapter of book one, the Elite Kings Club sunk its claws into me. It's like falling down a rabbit hole – you're in, it's gripping, and there's no way out until you see the whole wild ride through!

Going into these books you KNOW that it's going to be a mind-f. And that is why you read them - it's expected! And that is why you keep going.

Dark and twisty is my jam. The messed-up stuff? Bring it on! Don't get me wrong, the violence and depravity are there, but it's all grounded by these complex characters with surprising limitations, even if those limits are way out there. I was hooked the entire time, but let me tell you, the ending left me with just as many questions as I started with!

Huh

Maybe it’s just me….but I have finished this second book of the series and I still feel lost and confused. I don’t totally understand what is happening or where we are going. The relationship between Madison and pretty much everyone is either weird or just toxic. It’s so hard for me to get into the story especially since it jumps around a lot and to be honest I do not like any of the characters. The only reason I do not DNF this series is because I happen to come across a YouTuber that recommends this series and she recommended that readers stick it out because everything will make sense in later books and the story will get better. So I am going to forge forward and read the next book

This series is owning a part of my soul at this point. Learning more about The Kings and starting to unravel some of the secrets has me on the edge of my seat! I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened in this book! Madison learns so much more about this world she’s found herself in and the stakes keep getting higher. Something is happening and being revealed at every turn and I’m just eating it up! This series is so enjoyable to get lost in! This book introduces you to even more players in the “game” while also deepening the already established relationships. Lines are blurred and what you think you know ends up flipped on its head. I am along for this ride and loving every minute of it!

I mean come on!!

I’ve never been addicted to anything like I’m addicted to this series.  I honestly cannot stop reading it!

Madison’s life is being exposed to her in bits and pieces, and just when she thinks she has something figured out something happens to prove her wrong.  This journey that Amo is sending Madison on is treacherous for her mind, body and soul.

This is only book 2! I foresee myself not being very productive this week as I need the answers to so many questions and I don’t think I’m going to get them until I read all of the books! Listen, this is not a rainbows and unicorn sort of story, it’s dark, it’s triggering, but it’s also written well, and with care for those characters with trauma.  With two books Amo has made me fan, and I cannot wait to see what comes next for Madison and Bishop.

goddamn

I cannot believe I let this sit on my TBR for so long! All of the twists and turns and just when you think your getting all the info BAM another twist. I am loving watching Madison finally get some answers and standing up for herself. I don’t know how I feel about Bishop currently I want to rip his fucking head off.

This is book two in the series and cannot be read as a standalone. As always check your triggers as there are a ton in this series.
