Great premise, writing needs some work.

The premise is great - ménage romance. Parts were longer and unnecessary. Some dialogue went a bit long. The romance took a long time to blossom and then kicked off like a rocket. Very interested to read other books by the author.

I disliked just about everything in this book. The summary seemed really promising, but in the end this book was just incredibly boring. The murder plot seemed more like an afterthought, with an anticlimactic ending. Seriously they tell you who did it halfway into the book. I kept expecting a twist and it being someone else after all.
The characters were bland. The guys were so sweet, they were too sweet and unrealistic. And seriously were they incapable of using her name to her face? The nicknames were too annoying. The dialogue overall was cringe worthy and immature. I was so bored I even started skimming over the sex scenes.
And seriously guys don’t refer to your penis as he or him while having sex it’s a major turn off. Also the city in this book is called “Rock Hard”... really? The only way the writer could be more on the nose would be to call it Boner...

Got both this book and the second one for free on IBooks but I doubt I’ll even bother reading the second one.

Murder, mystery and menage. A fun read.

I enjoyed this first story of Montana Promises. A sleepy little town that has more than a few menage' relationships. This one was filled with sorrow, and quite a bit of suspense. The men and women of the town feel real, and the relationships grow throughout the story. You only meet this first threesome but I'm sure in this series you'll get to meet more. Amber, the female lead, is a bit dizzy to me, but it resolves itself when she starts trusting in the men that want to love her.

I'm writing this review before I've finished the book. I'm 80 pages in and I feel like nothing can change my opinion of this book.

Here's the bad news: choppy. It's the only way I can think to describe how this was written. Short, choppy thoughts and sentences. Nothing, absolutely nothing, flows. At all. The conversations, the thoughts, the actions, the whole plot....has no flow. I've also encountered way too many actions/thoughts being added AFTER they were originally to take place. It's like the author didn't plan anything. At least go back and insert the thoughts where they should be, maybe not all but some.

The book had a recipe for success if it'd had been executed better, planned a bit better and maybe a bit of tlc.

The good news is that I'm actually not completely turned off from this author. I saw no grammatical errors and I could see the obvious potential. I'll look into a different series by this author and give it a go.

This one, though, is a definite dud.

I wasn't a big fan of Promises of Mercy. The story line itself was pretty good, which is why I read through the whole thing. However, the dialogue felt incredibly forced and stiff. Something about it just didn't feel real to me. Also, there were many scenes I skimmed through because they weren't very interesting. Also, it was hard to keep up with the three differing perspectives. There was no real pattern and it was confusing to be reading from Amber's point of view for a couple of paragraphs, then suddenly switch to either Stone or Cade without much warning or even the beginning of a new chapter.

It wasn't too bad but also a little dissapointing. I agree with others that the relationship moved rapidly between them especially to lead to where they were at the end.

Story was okay though the character development was uneven. I felt we got to know some of the characters more than others. The story arc was also uneven...some parts seemed to drag while others went too quick without sufficient detail. It was obvious fairly quickly who the villain was. The crisis moment was oddly done and didn’t jive with the lead up. It also made no sense the way the sting operation unfolded.

Overall the book had potential but there were too many holes for me to keep me head in the story and that is always a major negative for me.
