ENG Cecelia Ahern writes romance, but her characters seems more real to me than those in other books of the same genre... even when they find themselves in unreal situations, with some magic elements or something similar. Like in this book: we have a world of imaginary friends, but it's not only a happy place because those friends are like the real ones, they came in all shape anc colours and they have feelings, disappointments, they are afraid.
This book is like a modern fairy tale (starting from the name of the fictional town of Baile na gCroíthe, Heaertstown), it's really and easy and funny read – and if you love the green emerald island, this book will make you happy for its setting in County Kerry

It took me a long time to finish reading this book. Basically I was forcing myself to finish it so that I am able to read new books and I want to see maybe I would like it at last, but I didn't. The ending of the story is just unsatisfactory as the former part.
The author wanted to write an imaginary love story. However, she didn't explain it well. There are so many unreasonable plots. For example, in one chapter Ivan was invisible to Elizabeth, and in the next chapter, without any explanation,Elizabeth saw him. And they fell in love strangely and out of blue.
I wonder if Ivan was able to eat pizza, then why his boss Opal could not use pen and paper to communicate with her lover?
Moreover, the ending was disappointing. Ivan was invisible to Elizabeth forever and he expressed his love for her (but she didn't know it,he just said it to himself). So it's a bad ending I think. Are they just the same as Opal and Geoffrey? Until Elizabeth die? I don't think this ending has meaning.
Well, maybe I'm too realistic and not imaginative at all, but at least a story should be logical and reasonable, or it will just be nonsense to me.
I'm so regretful for buying this book, it really waste my money and time.

A touch of whimsical, daring fun. Wish on Dandelions, dance beneath the stars, serenade in sun showers...
Lie back in blissful abandon, leap into fantasy and the magic of love...
Elizabeth befriends her nephew’s imaginary friend, Evan. He brings change to her neat and quiet life.
A good story. Not what I would expect from Ahern: an invisible character. But not a wasted book.

This book was just a super cute read, it had magic and romance while incorporating the family aspect. If you enjoy something a little bit magic (especially around this time of year) then I would definitely recommend you pick up this book. I am not a romance person and yet I just found the two main characters so cute that I couldn't help but love this book! Admittedly I did even tear up at the ending!

Great read! This was the first Cecelia Ahern book that I've read and I'm really impressed by her writing style. Her ability to flawlessly switch back and forth between speaking in the first person as Ivan and in the third person for other parts was wonderful! So many authors lose the reader in this kind of switch, but Ms. Ahern didn't. It was an adorable story! I was looking for a light-hearted love story when I pulled this book off the shelf and I got just what I asked for!
