LOVED the fae. They are just what I think they are. Not all Disney wings and cute. This one was just a tad too "Twilight" for me. But I'm not the target audience so I can't really blame the story. I doubt I'll continue the series but I recommend YOU give it a go if you think you want a love story with scary, fae, cool dudes with too many piercings and high school angst.
Gotta love a great Fairy Story - check my review out here:

This is a good fantasy book for teens. It involves love, romance, a strong female character, and faeries!
Perhaps I'm too harsh on my young adult novels, but I finished this book feeling unsatisfied. It started out so well, but near the middle it was sluggish and repeating itself. I just wanted to know the ending, but for all the wrong reasons. It wasn't that "I have to finish it, but I can't bear to finish it" feeling. It was more of a "I need to see how the author is going to get these frankly annoying characters out of this situation just to know if she's planning on doing anything interesting". And she didn't, just to spoil any preconceived notions that you might have. Yay, everyone wins! Only the antagonist dies! I may be looking at this from a different viewpoint here, but it seems so much more interesting to actually have your characters do something different. Sometimes I'd just like to see authors do something weird and unique with their characters. From the premise, that's what I was expecting. It was still enjoyable, but it could have been so much more interesting.
It took me a little while to get into this, since my usual preference for fantasy is more wizard, dragon variety. However, I found Ash's and Seth's relationship intriguing enough to order the next in the series.
A good engaging story. A little romantic and a lot of fun.
I'm sorry to say I don't know if I liked this book or not. I really liked the ending but the rest was long and strenuous and for me, quite without any interest.
Marr doesn't manage to make me feel anything for the main characters. Not Ainsleen, not Seth and definitly not Keenan (or perhaps dislike for him which is a shame since he's part of the love triangle). I was rooting for Seth all along.
The only character I felt anything for was Donia. I felt sorry for her and I thought she was the only one with a minimum of depth. And still, not a lot.
All in all, some interesting ideas but the writing was, sadlmy, not up to par.
