This was cute, I liked it more than the first in the series.
The book is very short, which is fine, but I just wish everything has been EXPANDED on. I want to know MORE about when they interacted in school. I want to know MORE about Hannah's relationship with the kids. I'd like to know more about his dead wife, and I kinda wanted his feelings towards starting a new relationship to be more complicated from a widower perspective.
I wanted to know MORE about Rae. I understand she gets her own book, but I wanted her friendship with Hannah to be more fleshed out, because I hate how singlemindedly focused romance books are on the lead characters (i know, I'm stupid, but it would feel realer if their relationships outside of the romance were explored a little more)
The ending felt super rushed, I actually really disliked it. It also felt thin, like there had been no reason for the two to worry in the first place, that's how anticlimactic everything was.
However, I thought the leads were cute and more interesting than Ruth and Evan, I thought the plot was serviceable. It was fine.

Major lack of communication all around which isn’t my favorite trope but it was also reasonable why they couldn’t be honest with each other.

Overall, very cute!
Kinda a “Love heals all” message; or at the very least opens you to the possibility of healing with reassurance that you’re not alone.

Good character development: she learned to trust others in the relationship and not think the worst of what she can’t control. He learned to love again after heartbreak  and to stop thinking so lowly of himself after his mistakes.

Love ❤

I just love Talia Hibbert.

I love her diverse characters, their struggles and the ultimate joys.

Communication is always the key to relationships, but in real life people hold back for both complex and silly reasons.

You really empathize with Nate and Hannah and understand why they struggle to fully communicate with each other.

And I still love Ruth and Evan.

And I'm super excited for Zach and Rae!!!!

I love Talia Hibbert’s characters so much that I’m willingly to ignore that these books have absolutely no plot.

Did not like all the manufactured conflict due to complete lack of communication. And the female lead was quite annoying.

Hibbert is an incredible writer, and this book may be my favorite (so far). Every single line makes me so livid and awestruck as a writer and entranced and in love as a reader.

Yes, to a book that deals with the live-in nanny forced proximity situation as a possible #MeToo issue, up to and including, Nate's brother Zach and all of Hannah's family very directly checking in.

There are children in this book, but in all the ways Hibbert knows we don't care except for cute cameos. (And the perfect angels always sleep through the night.)

Hannah's cluelessness around social cues is perfectly paired with Nate's guilt. I love that he's able to discuss his dead wife, his love for her, and the healing he's done with Hannah and his children.

Hibbert never fails to make you physically feel her characters and hang on to their every emotion. This book typifies how romance is about feelings and interiority, and how much I dearly love that.
