I thought this book was never going to end. If The Silver Hand was a high 2-star, this one is a low 2-star. I didn't think it deserved one since I did actually bother to finish it and it does tie up a few storylines from the entire trilogy so it isn't entirely worthless. Just mostly. I mean, nothing happens for the first half of the book! It is lacking conflict, mystery, suspense, it's just a big fat nothing. And then when things finally do start to happen, they're eye-rollingly stupid at times. Not to mention the whole damsel-in-distress motivation which I find lazy and annoying. Anyway. Not sure how people love these books so much, they were merely passable at best and a downright slog at worst.

Beginning with the continuation of the story of Llew Silver Hand, The Endless Knot tells of the golden age when all of Albion is united under the Aird Righ (High King). Llew is established among the people, and even takes a bride. The book shows how he helps to build up his city and his people, until little things start showing up, saying that not is all right with the land. When his most beloved treasure is stolen, he goes on a journey that shows destruction and despair like never seen before, yet ends in the renewing of two worlds.

I must admit this third book was somewhat of a disappointment to me. It started out rather slowly, just following general life in Dinas Dwr. That was fine and dandy, but it was a change of pace from what the rest of the series had been and an unexpected one. As I mentioned with the previous two books in the series, I do not recommend this series for younger teens, and anyone else should be smart enough to use their own discretion. This last book in particular discussed married life a little more than I was interested in reading.

The end caused mixed feelings. I could see how it fulfilled everything that the author had intended from the beginning, but it left questions in my mind that I may never have answered.

Overall I would recommend the series, although the last book was certainly not my favorite of the three.

After reading all 3 books in this trilogy, I've decided that they were a waste of my time. Based on how the last book ended, it makes the second book pointless.

2.5/5 - A rough ending that felt unnecessary and tacked on to the first two books. The attempted allegory was more uncomfortable than inspirationa. In the end we are left with way more questions than answers.

I had already bought the whole trilogy after finishing the first book, but after finishing the second, I was hesitant to finish the entire trilogy. Book 2 devastated me, but...book 3 sort of made me feel whole again.

After so many deaths in the last book, I didn't know how the author could make up for so much in the final book, but he did so, and the ending was surprisingly well played and well written. Exceptional trilogy, Stephen Lawhead!!!

Although I do hear this trilogy was among his best, I shall definitely make my way to reading more of his works eventually!

I enjoyed this book, but not nearly as good as the previous two books in the series. I also wasn't very thrilled with the change in narrator.
