It's so poorly written. Very average descriptions of women and not an exciting enough plot for me to push through.
medium-paced
I've read this years back, and it scared the heck out of me. I haven't finished this yet but I might come back to it soon... but it still gives me the creeps.
This is one of the worst books I've read. Each character is completely one dimensional and described like someone out of a children's cartoon. The book starts off with some setup that seems like it could be interesting, then afterwards spends hundreds of pages of two women checking in and out of various hotels. If I hadn't been listening to the audio book in terrible traffic I never would have finished it.
Okay. What was this book? It was ridiculous. I wanted to read action, car chases, gunshots and pew-pew. But like, this was underwhelming.
There was no tension, no plot just vibes and luck. And the characters were two dimensional as hell. If I ever read, "i will get them bitches" one more time in any other way possible, I will literally throw this book into the ocean. And the "partner" thing got stale pretty quickly. Plus describing each woman as attractive isn't a description at all. Like, I get it that you're a little sexist but like what about how short her dress was, how about her sultry lips or her body. There was literally no elaborate description for the characters- they were underwritten.
The voices are hard to tell apart as well. Diane and Kelly sound the same most of the time. Plus, how stupid are these women supposed to be? How are we supposed to root for them when they go shopping for four suitcases worth of clothes when they're supposed to be on the run? It was super unrealistic and kinda screamed, "I don't know anything about women except that they value clothes and men."
Giving someone an abusive past (Kelly and Lois) does not give them character. Also, people don't usually react to their partners' deaths by thinking about how they got laid well when the said partner was alive? Plus if Diane comes from money, why does she never contact her parents for help? There are so many plot holes. The worst part was how the plot made every getaway so convenient and easily done. There was no thrill to speak of. At all.
In conclusion, I do not appreciate all the women in the story being portrayed as shallow and simple minded with no complex thoughts or the capability to escape only due to sheer dumb luck. (The characters in the smut I read have more dimensions than Diane and Kelly.)
One star for the attempted female friendship and the abuse Tanner inflicted upon his brother because that made me hate him and I consider it good writing if you can get me to hate the villain. Also, Go Andrew- slayyyy- iykyk.

Everybody in this book was so stupid. Except for Andrew. And the "good guys" were just too ridiculously lucky. And stupid. But, I guess it's OK to be stupid if you have spectacular luck.

One of the silliest books I've ever read. It's like the author has never met a woman in real life before. 2 women stereotypes team up to find out who murdered their husbands...which was obvious at the beginning. It almost reads like a high school kid wrote it.
