Great writing, but very difficult material. Read in Honors English Senior year of High School. Teacher really emphasized it--showed us the film as well. I had to put my head down; could not watch it. Main idea was that these two men came together and created another being, a monster obviously, that they would not have been individually. I need to read some of Capote's other work and check out the biopic. If you like true crime, this has to be one of the best.

One of the few books I kept from school (journalism course) and re-reading it definitely makes me want to keep it as a part of my collection. Capote's writing is so immersive that you feel like you're witnessing the events first-hand, while also being informative enough to teach the reader about the law and psychological theories of that time.
