This was literally 300+ of too much sex and overuse of the word baby. There was no plot and I was super bored by this.

This is where my love of all things Kristen Proby began! I loved this book- and Natalie and Luke! They are the epitome of the perfect couple!

Very, very sexy book, but it got a little redundant at times. Same words or phrases or ideas used over and over. Very breezy read though.

Great beginning to a series! Loved both of the main characters!

I was super bored the whole time. The sex scenes basically read as 'blah blah blah' because I couldn't get invested in the characters. Which is all too bad since the writing seemed fine but it was just missing something for me.

The With Me In Seattle Series by Kristen Proby has been on my list forever. I have heard such great things, and I must say, I was not disappointed. I read the entire book with a happy little grin on my face the whole time. It had everything I love in a book. Heart pounding melt-in-your mouth hero, a heroine that I loved immediately, humor, a ton of romance and lots and lots...and lots more, SEX. But not to the point where it felt like full-on lady porn at all. The romance was definitely the focus here, and it was basically angst-free.
"You are every fantasy I have ever had come true, Natalie...
I'm almost afraid to touch you," he whispers.
"Why?" I cock my head to the side, confused.
"I'm afraid you're not real."

Come Away with Me (With Me in Seattle 1) by Kristen Proby is a happy little fairy tale. There isn't much meat to it, but Luke might be the most romantic guy I have ever read about. Plus he's fuck-hot and dominant in the bedroom. He makes every real man look bad. But that's OK, sometimes a sweet fairytale without all the angst is a nice change.

Natalie is a photographer, out very early one morning taking photos at the beach. Suddenly, she is confronted by a very angry, and very gorgeous guy who is insisting she give him her camera. She thinks she is being mugged because she doesn't recognize the sexy stranger from the huge hit vampire movies he starred in years before.

Luke is immediately intrigued by the curvy and beautiful Natalie, and he is so excited to meet someone who doesn't know who he is. He takes her out to breakfast to apologize, and the romance of Luke and Natalie begins.
"You're the first woman I've brought to my home and all I can think about is getting your beautiful body naked and fucking you senseless. I need to know if there is any competition. I don't share, Natalie."

Holy Jesus, he wants  to fuck me. Well, back at you, bossy man.

“Saying that you don’t want to share implies that I’m already yours, Luke.”
“Aren’t you?” he whispers.”

Natalie didn't know who he was, and Luke kept it from her...but everything else about Luke is so freaking perfect *swoon*.

He cooks, sets up completely romantic outings, gives amazing foot rubs, talks dirty, never stops telling Nat (who is insecure) how beautiful she is, sends her flowers up the wazoo, is amazing in bed, is a bit controlling and jealous,  and is of course, a gorgeous hunk of manhood.

The sex. Oh my, the sex. My vagina was kind of hurting in sympathy with the amount of sex they had! Airplane, limo, beach, wall, desk...and it was pretty hot! The scenes are short, maybe 2 pages each (they both seem to come quickly), but there are tons of them. And no flowery words like 'petals' and 'turgid'.
"Grab onto the headboard"
"I want to touch you"
He lightly kisses me again. "Trust me baby. Hold onto the headboard."

Likes:

  • OMG, Luke Williams. He's almost perfect.

  • Lots of sex (hey, I know, I'm a horn-dog)

  • Hardly any angst.

  • The banter between the couple.

  • Nat's friend and roommate Jules and her family, and I can't wait to read more about them in the series.

  • I love the movie star/regular girl theme.

  • Luke Williams is the most romantic guy ever.

Dislikes:

  • It was all just a little too sweet and perfect.

  • A few too many errors and overuse of certain words.

  • Nat created just a little too much drama all by herself by having a major overreaction.

  • The sex was varied and numerous, but a few scenes could have been stretched. They both seem to come in two strokes.

I am absolutely ready to move on and read the next one. I hear the series gets better as you move on, and given that I really loved this book, I can't wait for more! Come Away With Me is perfect for when you need that sweet, sexy, hot, angst-free romance-heavy beach read. Told in first person via Natalie, we are lucky to get an awesome epilogue from Luke's POV. This book stands alone, but the rest of the books have glimpses of the couple.
He leans down and gently presses his cheek to mine. "Thank you," he whispers.
"For what?" I whisper back.
"For being mine."

Come Away With Me was not a very good read for me. At first I was entertained by the writing, found much of it quite humorous when it wasn't supposed to be. Really I found it humorous because I didn't think it was very good. But that was fine as at least it was entertaining me. Then I quickly lost interest as it was just sexy time every two seconds, and not good sexy time. Plus some character issues and it was just not the best read.

This is the story of Natalie and Luke. Natalie who is rich from money her deceased parents left her. She takes photos for a living and loves living on Alki beach. And Luke, the famous guy who falls for her. Luke who Natalie doesn't recognize when he first approached her on the beach angry since he thinks she is taking photos of him. That whole first scene was so ridiculous and Natalie is a bit dense. She cannot figure out that Luke might be famous or something, might be rich or famous or something so that people would recognize him while out and about. I mean why would he always be trying to disguise himself if he was not a public figure of some sort? Plus she forgives Luke right away for being a jerk about the camera because he is oh so hot! Easy as that. Then they start hanging out and it just was not realistic. The way they talked throughout the book did not read like normal people speak. It was too...too something. Too stiff and it just didn't read right for me.

Then they start having sexy times and at first that really entertained me. The descriptions of the sexy time made me laugh. I read a few scenes out loud to my husband and he enjoyed it. I know, not what you usually want in those kind of scenes. They were just described in a way that was just ridiculous for me. It was like while reading it I had this monotone voiced guy reading it for some reason. Strange, but then the book turned into pretty much just sexy time and I grew bored of it. It was every two seconds they were having sex or talking about having sex. Dinner with the parents is not even a deterrent! On the way home Luke says how he wanted to have sexy time with her right there at the dinner table, he didn't care who was there. Is that supposed to be hot or swoony or something? Cause it just creeped me out. No sexy time in front of the family! Yuck! Thank goodness it didn't really happen...

Anyways, I skimmed the last half of the book as I said above it was pretty much just sexy time with small breaks. If you don't mind the writing then it might be a good read for you. Oh one other thing that bothered me? Luke's anger. It was never really addressed, but he would get super angry for no reason way too often. Like when they are first hanging out Natalie's guy friend texts her asking if she has plans and Natalie is instantly like oh no! Luke saw this! He will be pissed! And he was...it just read as Natalie has to be careful what she does/who she speaks to so Luke doesn't get angry. Another example? The Brad situation. She has to change the way she works, who she can work for and such, because Luke gets super angry? I'm sorry but no. That would have been screw you and your irrational jealous anger. That is not cool. And sometimes I didn't even understand why he was angry, he just would be. Not cool man. Not cool. But it was never brought up as a problem which bugged me. Apparently being easy to anger and having to placate him are just normal things you have to deal with in a relationship. It didn't happen all the time, but enough that it raised red flags for me. Like it could go somewhere bad in the future. It definitely didn't make me happy for the happily ever after...Oh well. Not the book for me.

First book in a great series that's filled with both steamy romance, and humor. This series only gets better which each new book, and has by far one of the most enjoyable, and well written epilogues I've ever read.

Repetitive use of the word beautiful and the overreactions to every little thing was just too much.

I was apprehensive about this book because the reviews weren't exactly stellar. I think having lower expectations were good because I was pleased with this book. I'm coming off of a jag of reading some intense books, so I was in a good place to read this book. I like Luke and Natalie, even if they are obscenely rich, fall immediately in love and have one amazing romantic experience after another. It's sappy that they won some sort of love lottery, but they both waited long enough and endured enough, so who am I to hate? I know some people call it flat or a non-story, but you know what you're getting when you read it. There was no major villan, no twist in the plot that left me emotionally drained...just a nice, quick, fun read. I adore all of the characters in this book and look forward to the next.
