I enjoyed the series, and I liked the development of the main characters. I think it was a cool premise.

What's it called when a book leaves you utterly shattered & completely broken but also bursting with feel good fuzzy vibes? That's how Ruthless Vows feels. An AMAZING ending to this duology. I absolutely love love love. Read it!

This is a worthy sequel to the first book. I love this universe's magic system and I love how this book expanded on it.
I'm not the biggest fan of memory loss as plot device and yet I love how it was used here.
I love that the author write's death and with the weight death has and
when a character has to kill, it affects them accordingly.
I love how the author didn't overlook the effects of war, although this book is technically YA,
the main group doesn't end unscathed, the problem doesn't disappear as soon as the leader is defeated, paramilitary groups are shown to be as dangerous as they can be and the scene discussing how killing people from another army without trial after the war is over is a war crime was essential.
. I love this book so much. A few, very few, moments missed a bit of the magic of the first book but I still feel like this was really good. I can't picture a better ending for this series. I'm glad to say this has been fantastic from beginning to end.

I cried and it was LOVELY! I loved the magic and the relationships explored with family (found and blood), morality, religion and a higher power, and the ethics of war. For a duology that is marketed as a romance, these book—this one especially—holds so, so much more.

For a book with this many dense topics and themes, it is an incredibly easy and fast paced read. Every character is precious and I would protect WITH MY LIFE! (Attie and Tibias have my whole heart!) And the way in which the main couple fell so believable in their love and devotion is miraculous, somehow never coming across as over-the-top or cheesy.

This has entered my top reads of the year so far for sure!

This book put Roman through it. The plot was super good, and I was rotting for our characters so hard. I loved seeing Attie even more in this one. We learned more about the gods which was really interesting
