I always forget just how stellar the reoccurring background characters are written, always love the little excerpts at the end (the potato peeler !!) And that they have been living their own lives throughout the course of the main story and it's great.

Flyte gets an extra half star because of how stunningly gorgeous the ending is, but compared to Magyk, it’s really not much to write home about. My favorite part was certainly the portrayal of the bond between Jenna and Septimus, as well as seeing how Sep has settled into his new life as Marcia’s Apprentice. And though this one is important for some plot stuff, I’m more excited for the future volumes when things get more interesting.

I'm so happy to report that I enjoyed the second book almost as much as the first one. Gives me a lot of hopes for the future instalments. It's not only the story that is magical, it has some very pretty art work that really adds to the magical reading experience. Makes me remember why I love a good middle grade
