That ending !!!!

Urghh, ok let me start from the beginning.

Rianna and Alex are legit as they have opened their business for Tongues for the Dead. She is currently investigating a series of suicides/murders while being bullied by the Winter Queen. I love that Roy got a firmer role as I think he is a wild card in the mix of things. You also see the introduction of some new characters and some oldies but goodie like dear old dad.

What a time to be able to speak to the dead I say

Lets examine her relationships thus far:
- Alex and Falin (Rolling my eyes through most of it)
- Alex and death (tears in my eyes for the beauty that could be)
- Alex and Riana (growing slowly)
- Alex and roomates holly and Caleb (sharing secrets that she doesn't want her friends knowing)
- Holly and Caleb (squeak...finally)
- Riana and Desmond (YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS)

My only tiff with the book itself is that I found it was a tad bit drawn out and took a really long time to get to the action, but when it did...oh babyyy.

Didn't disappoint! Really great mystery and baddy. I really love Alexis's evolution and I like that it's a slow one, she grows a little more with each novel. Also the relationship(s), oh man, OH MAN. I HATE love triangles, unless Kalayna Price is writing them apparently.

After reading about Alex's complicated love life, I don't feel so badly about mine. A fae guard, who is a former lover of the Winter Queen AND "Death", a soul collector are the two men in Alex's life who have confessed to loving her. Unfortuntely, she's unable to be with either of them. The Winter Queen won't let her guard go into the arms of another woman, without being able to control them both and it's forbidden for Soul Collectors and Humans to be involved. Oh, and did I mention Alex is also under heavy suspicion for starting a ghoul epidemic? But with all of this going on, Alex still has to track down a serial killer, who is eating the life force of his victims before making them commit atrocious (and very public) suicides, without getting anyone else killed; namely herself...

This book was better focused on the story with more concise writing rather than a little ramble. However the series is losing its sheen, the guest book was definitely the best.

I didn't love this as much as the 2nd one, but it was still really good. My only complaint besides the slow start was that some of the solutions to the problems that Alex faced were a bit more complicated than my tiny brain could comprehend. Still, once it got going the storyline was non-stop, action packed and Death, as always, was just too sexy! I just read that so far Roc has only contracted for these 3 books--I certainly hope that K. Price has other options available in case Roc doesn't contract for more because she ended the book on a freakin cliffhanger, and there are still way too many loose ends to tie up!

Right in the fuckin' feels. Kalayna giveth. Kalayna taketh away.

Another really fantastic book in this series, so enjoyable, and a lot happens, some from the last two books, some new stuff, and yeah, just so great! I need to keep reading this series!

Grave Memory had an amazing mystery plot. Kalayna Price raised the stakes with this installment and the way she developed not only the investigation but the resolution to the mystery was so good! It was such an intriguing premise and the execution was very well done. I also liked that we got to learn a bit more about Faerie and Alex's situation with Death.

Things I didn't like: the romance. I'm really not a fan of all the consent issues on top of a love triangle.

It's been quite a few years since I read the previous book in the series and I'd forgotten almost everything about Alex Craft and her world. She is a grave witch, meaning she has a connection to the world of the dead and can see and communicate with ghosts and raise shades of people who have died.

In this part of her adventures, she is trying to figure out who or what is behind a chain of mysterious suicides. The shades of the victims can't remember the last three days of their lives, something Alex had never encountered before, and with the help of her new business partner and resident ghost, they tackle the first case of their new investigation firm.

Although I could not remember specifics about a number of characters, the two men in Alex's life included, the story kept me engaged throughout and got me rooting for
SpoilerDeath and Alex, who got a couple of happy hours together before reality ripped them apart once again
.

Alex's life is complicated, and will likely become even more so after the events of this book, especially
Spoilerafter her heritage is finally revealed and with the addition of Falin in their household
.

I haven't made up my mind about whether I like Alex as a character or not, but her world is quite interesting and I am curious to see what happens next in the series so I'll probably read the next book, [b:Grave Visions|15816410|Grave Visions (Alex Craft, #4)|Kalayna Price|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1453060301s/15816410.jpg|21543171], at some point in the future.

Oh, the part in every UF series where the MC chooses one out of her two disgustingly handsome men and then can't really be with him for "reasons". I hate this trope, but I love this worl-building
