This story had me crying like a baby at 23%. The loss this heroine Lila has gone through and what she has endured was devastating.
Nova has not had things easy either, he is lashing out through his creativity and finding his place in the world. He loves his family, and finds another family in the Fallen MC.
The sadness, the happiness, the unrequited love in this story touched my heart profoundly. I was with these characters every step of the way, feeling all the emotions. That is how well this book was written, the characters came to life inside of me and gave me all the feels.

Love the way you lie...

Once upon a time, Giana Darling created a family. It wasn't the Cleavers. This family tree is made of grafted branches. Its stronger than other families because it's bond is through life, trauma, and love. Nothing is taken for granted. You aren't a placeholder. There's no heir apparent. No need to wear t-shirts that say "I'm the oldest". The only uniform they wear is leather.

This beautiful storybook family may not be your first wish upon a star but they are all a wish come true.

Giana Darling has made many people fall for the Fallen Men MC. Without a doubt, many more will fall in the future. With amazing and devastatingly complicated men behind the leather, it's a wonder more haven't fallen victim to the unrequited love bug.

Nova, being the prettiest, is the embodiment of many fantasies- none of which have anything to do with his looks. Protector. Hero. He is and was everything to her. One of two men whose purpose in life was to protect her mind, body, and feed her soul. She had no choice. Love was given before she even knew the consequences. Lila may have chosen her path but she couldn't have avoided it either.

Love makes people do crazy and wonderful things. Giana Darling makes us cry, laugh, love, and mourn. Seems like her magic is very similar to the kind Nova wields.

Love the way you lie, Nova. I love it to my very marrow.

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -Emily Dickinson

Sometimes I read a book and have tons of words to say and creative ways to express myself, but sometimes I'm a ball of emotion and can't find my words. I'm so emotional after reading Inked in Lies. I felt like I watched Nova and Lila dance around each other forever. There was so much hurt to overcome, low self worth to work around and forgiveness that needed to occur before these two could work it out. All the heartache was worth it.

I love The Fallen Men. I love the ingenuity and creativity of this author. I love how all these words stick with me for days after reading. I highly recommend this book and this entire series. All the books are technical standalones but they do world build so to have a richer experience.... read the series. Bravo on another brilliant book!
