I'm so confused, the reader I am now versus the reader I was three years ago feel like such different people, because I loved this book the first time I read it but this second time around it feels like such a chore to get through. Lincoln is incredibly dull with no ambitions whatsoever, and I haven't enjoyed the back-and-forth between Beth and Jennifer at all. Some of the language choice are also pretty questionable. Not into it.

This book felt like what you want to read on a rainy day with pastries, a cozy blanket and tea.
I really enjoyed this book because it was witty, slow, and nostalgic. If this book was written in present day it’d be creepalicious but it being the 90s gave it the innocence that I needed to simply enjoy the story.
I almost gave it three stars at the end when Beth and her boyfriend break up because I dislike it when characters end up together as a result of convenience… “You’re single now, I am single now, let’s end up together!” Ughhh so unoriginal! BUT! the author did a good job at inserting space and obstacles in between them getting together so that it didn’t feel so predictable.

I didn't love this one as much as Fangirl or Eleanor & Park. I still found it very interesting and it was neat to see Beth's POV from the emails only as Lincoln saw her. The main characters were frustrating at times but I'm much happier with this ending than I was with E&P.
