This was the most pointless book I've ever probably read. I would've DNF but have issues and had to finish it for the sake of finishing.
Little Women fan fiction *spoiler alert* how we wish it ended.
I wouldn't call this a retelling. It has the character names and tiny bit of the original plot, but the characteristics of the girls was off. Marmee as a drunk? Plot lines left lingering at the end. Lots o cursin and sexin. I had to read it as a new book to kind of enjoy it and not despise it as an poor take on my favorite book of all time.
This Little Women reinvention (fractured fairy tale? fanfiction?)- re-envisions Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy in present day, living on a military base in New Orleans while their father Frank is deployed and Marmee/Meredith is drinking more heavily with each passing day.
As a creative writing exercise, it's fun, but hard to take someone messing the canon that I love.

I think the thing that makes this modern day adaptation of Little Women so compelling is that instead of the beloved and charming versions of the March women that we’ve been so accustomed to time after time, we get a glimpse into these absolutely riveting and self-absorbed, vain modern versions of them that take the story in completely new and exciting directions. The Spring Girls was more “inspired by” Little Women, than it was a retelling, and from that stand point, it wasn’t a bad story. I Love Little Women and to be honest, this wasn’t Little Women, but it’s own story about sisterhood, family, love, and strength. 3.5 stars.
PS: I read this square to fulfil a reading BINGO square about BACON. Here's the reasoning:
Anna Todd wrote The Spring Girls. She also wrote AFTER which STARRED hero Fiennes Tiffen, who was in The Woman King, which STARRED Viola Davis, who was in Beyond all Boundaries with....Kevin BACON.

Loved this version of a retell of pretty little women. Kept me hooked through
I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book, I mean Little Women is a classic and I just wasn't sure how Anna Todd would've gone about her story. I was pleasantly surprised, I really did enjoy this book. Little Women in today's world, who would've guessed!
A beautiful and strong bond between 4 sisters, we see their lives grow and mature.
Definitely a page turner I recommend.

Primeiramente, gostaria de começar dizendo o quanto a escrita da Anna Todd evoluiu e estou surpresa! Ano passado comecei a ler After e os diálogos me deixavam constrangida de tão clichês, previsíveis e mal feitos.

I adore Little Women. I have read it multiple times and watched all of the movies. So, when I saw this, I was so excited to read it. Is it an exact retelling of the story, No. However, it is loosely based on it and it is a very entertaining story.
I liked the feel of family and friendship and love you get from this story. It is a clever telling and I really enjoyed reading it.
