Dare I say it? Should I say it?
Ok I’m gonna say it.
This is J. Bree’s best work yet.
No question about it. I’ve read every single book by J.Bree.
I fell in love with Hannaford Prep hardcore. Like a die hard fan. I wasn’t as thrilled with Butcher of the bay (mainly book two) ... but hey... I still had to read this one.
I was lucky to win an ARC.
But this?! Angel Unseen?! Y’all aren’t ready for this!
A slow burn. Perfected world building. Amazing characters.
Suspense. Darkness. Mystery.
Who’s the fucking rat?
We get The Wolf and her boys in this for a hot minute.
We get mother fuckin Posey!
I couldn’t stop reading this. It was just... everything I expect from an MC novel.

“I hold her tight enough that her demons can’t come to play until she’s ready to move. It’s the least I can do.”

This leaves on a doozy of a cliffhanger. Like.. one that might make you fling your phone at the wall.
Be prepared.

Mounts bay saga continues (slight spoilers)

I really enjoyed this book. This is a standalone novel in the mounts bay saga! You don’t have to read the hannaford prep series first, but you honestly should because it will help you understand some things in this book. This is the story of Tomi, a member of the Unseen MC, and Angel, a girl on the run from a dark past who takes a job as a stripper to make ends meet. I loved the book because J Bree has a way of pulling out alllllll the emotions from you. I was choked up several times from the emotions that Angel had. From the self loathing to the honest to God belief that she is worth nothing and the world might be better off if she died. And you want to freaking strangle her because we know how truly kind and pure she is, she was just dealt some crappy cards in life. I loved seeing all of our hannaford crew mentioned, and I loved that were branching out into the MC now, I can’t wait for Posey and Rues book! Now, the reason I deducted 1 star was because of angel and Tomi. I know he doesn’t know what Angel has been through, and his first impression of her is that she’s just some patch chasing stripper, like all the others. But honestly, not once was he ever nice to her AT ALL before they hooked up. Yes I know he’s an alpha MC member, but I just didn’t see the love from him until super late in the book. I would have liked for him to have at least apologize for treating her like a wh*re at some point. Yes he protects her and tells her she’s the one for him, but again, I just never saw the affection between them so that was a little bummer. But it was still a really good book, like a said J Bree is an amazing author who can really pull you into a story, I just would personally like a little more relationship development. I mean honestly what made this book so amazing was all the mentions of our previous mounts bay characters, and seeing the brotherhood between Tomi and Rue. Can’t wait for his book. As well as finding out what’s gonna happen with Colt Graves and the demon MC eventually. The “romance” of this book kind of took a backseat to all of the action/mystery going down that will eventually lead us back to Mounts Bay, and I’m definitely okay with that because my heart definitely belongs to the Family.

I also want to point out that while this can be read as a standalone, the epilogue leaves a cliffhanger to set up Poe and Rues book. So if you don’t want a cliffhanger, skip the epilogue. I, of course, recommend you read the hannaford prep series first (my all time fave).

Whew. This was a rough book to get through. Came up on my tiktok and amazon reviews were really good so figured I’d give it a go. I loved the storyline however, soooo unnecessarily long. I found myself skimming half way through and cringing at some of the smutty scenes. The mmc side story was so over the top and unneeded, it was just too much to follow

I don't give one star ratings so two is the lowest I will go... if I did give one star though, I'd give it to this book. I really enjoyed Hannaford Prep so I was looking forward to this series... Unfortunately though I just couldn't get into it and life is too short to keep reading if a story hasn't grabbed me after 120 pages. I found the heroine annoying since she has no back bone and no good back story to explain why she's a timid girl who let's everyone and their dog treat her like shit.. especially the character who is supposed to be her love interest?! No thanks, I'll pass.

It's hard to believe that Bree has only been publishing books for 1 year. She writes her characters in such a way that we, as the reader, are right beside the characters every step of the way. We feel their pain, and every joy as they navigate the Mounts Bay and the surrounding areas.

This book takes us into the MC world of the Unseen where we get to know Posey and her family. Although this book is not Posey's book it definitely is setting the stage for her upcoming story down the road. This book focuses on Angel, and Tomi. Angel is a new face to the Coldstone area, and the biggest money maker the Unseen has seen in a while working in their club. Angel just wants to keep her head down, and stay out of trouble. Just like Lips in Hannaford Prep we know that those who want to stay out of trouble always have a way of trouble finding them. Tomi fights his attraction to Angel while she is thrown off guard that there may be a man out there that doesn't put her off.

Together these two have to navigate their new relationship while facing down unknown people who are out to make their life miserable. I devoured this book, and now want to go back and start Hannaford from the beginning!

Great read

Hot steamy and dangerous! Perfect combo of love, hate and a biker gang. I couldn’t put it down until I finished the whole book

Angel unseen

Well... I’m just sitting here like wtf j Bree?! Things are certainly going to get crazy in the next book after that ending.
I am seriously hooked on all of the characters from this world. Both from mounts bay and coldstone. I never want it to end. My heart hurt so much for angel in this book. All the push and pull between her and Tomi and how confused she was by it all. He was certainly a jerk about somethings but I loved that he never pushed her even if he lashed out thinking she didn’t want him. Angel was a survivor and while she had lasting issues she didn’t let it harden her.
I can’t wait for more of the unseen characters!

What a layered, nuanced thrill of a ride this one was. I loved it. It was a long one, but it flew by, and I really couldn't pinpoint anything extra that should be cut. It's gritty and dark and bloody. And fabulous.
