I have to be honest, when I first started reading 'F**k, Marry, Kill Me, Daddy' by Lance Lansdale, my first thought was 'What the hell am I reading?!'. Its was also my second and third thought. However, I then got absolutely hooked, and then some!

Right from the foreword 'warning' I could tell this would be unlike anything i'd previously read. I would say this book isn't for the faint hearted, but by the end, my heart was full.

Where to even start. Brody is a brooding hitman for hire, he's good at his job too.  His latest mark is Scott, a sparkle twink with a side of kink. For some reason, after weeks of stalking and plotting, Brody just can't seem to finish the job.

It's all fun and games for Scotty, who is absolutely convinced his 'Murder Daddy' wouldn't hurt a hair on his head. Turns out, he's right. As Brody begins to enjoy the game too, they begin to form a relationship he never would have expected.

This book is a WILD ride.  I am not certain I should have found a lot of this funny, but it read like a gritty dark comedy, and I was giggling while simultaneously being shocked at the story content. It was unhinged, bizarre at times, but absolutely addictive and oddly charming.

Scotty and Brody are a real match, I loved them. They are as deranged (in the cutest way, if that's even possible) as each other. The side characters are questionably sane too, but fantastic

Leave everything you know about MM romance behind, suspend your disbelief and this will grab you, just like it did me.  I honestly loved every second of it.
Do however approach with caution, this might not be for you. Have a read of the trigger warnings and blurb before reading

The only way to fully grasp any of it, is to just read it. It is a great piece of writing, I will definitely be impatiently waiting for more from this series.

Completely unhinged and fun, definitely read the intro and content warnings to understand what you’re getting into XD

This book had me questioning myself "wtf am I reading??! Yet, I couldn't put it down. It was insane. Almost a parody on the hitman falling for his mark trope but it worked. I thought I'd hate it because it was the cheesiest thing Ive ever read but alas, I enjoyed every unbelievable weird second of this dumpster fire. It was actually a pretty good book and I really enjoy the authors writing style.

DID NOT FINISH: 29%

I cried twice only 29% in cause Brody was so mean to Scotty and not in like a fun flirty banter way. Like I knew it was going to be weird but I really don’t like the way internalized homophobia is coming out in this book. I know so many people who loved it and rec’d it to me, but it just isn’t for me.

Deliciously unhinged.

This is a raucous and wild ride. The author proclaims it to be an over-the-top and unhinged story, and he is not wrong!

To be honest, it’s not my style, but the writing was great, and I can totally see others loving it! I’m just hit or miss with rom-com’s, but I thought that maybe with the darker theme…

“I haven’t seen you leave your apartment once in the three weeks I’ve been stalking you. I think all of this isolation might have taken a toll on you. You’re unhinged.”

Either way, it was a fun premise and I did enjoy the mix of insta-love and dark themes. They go through a wild ride with curve ball after curve ball which will make you laugh and shake your head in equal measure.

Though I won’t continue with the rest of the series, I do want to read his other writing, because he is definitely skilled.

Gosh, talking about a delightful read, this is so good. How? How can you put all these delights in one story? I’m in awe! I’m proud of you too!!

Word of the day: Unhinged!
Page one already made me snort so hard, that my coffee almost came through my nose, yuk.

What do we have here…. Scotty is a target and his assassin can’t seem to finish the kill. Scotty finds him irresistible and when the guy grabs his throat he loves the man’s k!nky side. As if!!

Brody is pulling his hair out, this twink calling him Daddy… pfff, as if!!
Scotty is pushy and drives Brody crazy. (And tbh at times me too lol)

But… yes but… Brody gets a wake-up call.
He decides, that when he’ll kill him he will do it quickly, the boy deserves it.

“If another guy touches you, I’ll shove an ice pick through his eardrum.”

Did I say I loved this story? Oh gosh, it’s one big unhinged delight!
Scotty is so endearingly delusional, it’s quite heartbreaking.
Brody is just as crazy, together! A rollercoaster of unhingedness ( I know it’s not a word)
It’s just to show you how crazy this story is, crazy good!
