I was looking forward to this book, and hoping for something that unfortunately didn’t didn’t happen.

I thought book 2 would take us deeper into the Folkestone Sins world, and expected to have secrets unravel while Stella finds out more about her family, and some of those things do happen.

It was extremely difficult to become immersed in this story. The characters' inner monologue was most of this book with only small parts of dialogue between characters, and even some situations that could have been an opportunity for more engaging dialogue were instead highlighted through the inner monologue.

In the first book the connection between Stella and Poe was palpable from the moments they met and grew more intense with every interaction, but I didn’t get the same feeling between them in this.

It could have to do with the lack of interaction through dialogue and only having those be from an inner monologue point of view but regardless, I just didn’t feel the intensity they previously shared. I found myself skimming pages and even then not feeling as though I missed anything.

The few interactions they did share were overruled by miscommunication and dramatic reactions, although some of the reaction is understandable, at a point it just became drama for the sake of drama. This has “Dark High School Romance” in the title yet, this isn’t even on the gray scale of being dark.

Taking into consideration that when the chapters go from Stella’s pov to Poe’s the change in perspective of the character retells the ending of the previous chapter which was only slightly annoying, but the worst part was that often times in the retelling from the other pov facts and situations didn’t match the previous chapter. A few times I went back to the previous chapter thinking maybe I missed it, but that wasn’t the case.

The best part of this was the fierce loyal friendship that Sunday and Stella have. Stella needed someone in her corner and although we don’t have Sunday’s story yet, I feel like she needed someone too.

After reading the first book in the series I was looking forward to seeing not only how Poe and Stella’s story played out but also the secondat=ry characters the seemed full of intrigue and entertainment with the little hints of secrets they were keeping and the banter they had, but unfortunately I didn’t get that same feeling throughout book 2, and this is where the series will end for me.

Wow, the hits and twists just keep coming.

Stella is such a feisty and fierce character, I love her resilience, her loyalty and her heart. She is such a boss - I want to be her when I grow up.
Despite his mistakes, I dig Poe. He is totally perfect for her.

I enjoyed the roller coaster ride that this story was. Sadness, anger, happiness, grief and forgiveness were just some of the emotions touched on in this book. It was INTENSE!

I have SO MANY questions...
But the most important ones are:
Do Poe and Stella get a HEA?
Are Sunday and Payne finally going to give up the game and get together?
And...
What the? THAT ending threw me completely!

I am dying to get my hands on the next book!

"...she’s the antidote to my darkness, and I crave everything about her; her touch, her scent, her laughter."

Fractured Things is the second book of the Folkestone Sins series. In this incredible continuation After the hugel bombshell that was dropped in the first book, Stella tries to process everything she learned. What she didn't expect was to uncover more secrets and lies from those who were closest to her. I have to say one thing though, Sunday is legit BFF goals. I wish I had a friend like her. OMG! That cliffhanger!!! Can't wait to devour the next one!!

I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review

To begin, this is a sequel to Fragile Things and it cannot be read independently. It picks up at the cliffhanger of the last book but absolutely nothing will make sense if they aren't read in order.

I wasn't as taken by the story as I was the first. Don't get me wrong, the whole story between Poe and Stella was great. I really enjoyed it. It just felt unnecessary for it to be split between two books. This book took me a while to finish because it felt slow and drawn out.

I really can't emphasize enough that this book wasn't bad, just not as good as the first. It's the 2nd book curse in a series. I completely intend to continue on with this series.

This book finished up Poe and Stella's story and introduced the next story's characters.

Poe and Stella are finally back! And Fractured Things has the same magic as Fragile Things. Sexy, emotionally complex, suspenseful, and angsty- this story is every bit as full of twists and drama. But this story also has its own vibe- an insular focus that makes it even more emotionally resonant and makes the stakes feel higher- because Fractured Things is about fixing what is broken, and there is no one more broken by the revelations of book one than Stella.

After the jaw dropping ending of Fragile Things, I’ve been anxiously awaiting our next book to figure out how these characters can move forward from the life changing revelations and scarring violence. Stella, with the support of the best ride or die bestie ever in Sunday, has left Folkestone behind- not ready, or perhaps unwilling- to confront the horrific truths she learned about her family and the Heirs. Poe, meanwhile, is devastated and lost- he broke his own rules to love another, and now she’s gone. Can he find a way to repair Stella’s fractured heart? And what secrets yet remain in Folkstone?

Samantha really changed up what I expected from this story- in a way that I find really clever. Fragile Things moves at a frantic pace- the unraveling of secrets and the powder keg collisions of characters. Fragile Thing was about a cacophonous breaking of our characters. Fractured Things feels entirely different- because the catalyzing focus of this story isn’t about Stella figuring out the mystery of her background or adjusting to the elite and volatile world she finds herself in like in book 1- no, this is more about her existential reconciliation of all she learned. And Poe and others trying to repair the fractures in their relationships with Stella as the result of the depravity and secrets of the Heirs. Of course, there are still secrets and twists at every turn- just when Stella thinks she has all the information she inevitably finds out she doesn’t- but the plot is slower here, the secrets and twists more steadily meted, and the focus is more emotional: Stella’s journey to try to make sense of all she’s learned about her life and where that means she needs to be, all while trying to figure out what transgressions and mistakes are forgivable, and those that are not, for those she trusted and loved. That’s a quieter character journey, but one that is equally as captivating as book one. But that does give the story a different feel- because the focus is no longer on revelations (even though we still have them), the focus is on reparations.

This book made me fall even deeper in love with Poe. We get to see how much he’s changed, we get to see his sweet and tender heart, and we feel so much for him as he faces impossible decisions. This story softens him, gives him vulnerability. Whereas Stella, we get to see her emerge stronger, harder, more resilient and more empowered. She gets hurt, A LOT, and she spends a lot of this story in an emotional vornando, but she finds the right nexus of courage and kindness, and she finds her place. She finally belongs. But she has to learn to forgive, to trust- and Poe? Well he has to find a way to be worthy of both.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again- it still SHOCKS me that Samantha is a newer writer. Not only is she a technically accomplished writer- the prose is polished, engaging, and beautifully scribed- but she has created such a captivating world and characters. Characters who touch our hearts, whose stories pull at our emotions. A world about escaping the burdens of your past, of letting go of the pains and mistakes of your parents. A story about finding who YOU are...about belonging. Not only am I impressed, I am ADDICTED. I want to live in this world and with these characters forever.

Of course, just when we think things are all peachy, Samantha gives us a hint of what is to come. And I for one as SHOCKED but also overjoyed with the possibilities. I’m so ready for Restless Things- and our heroine?! Oh my- she’s going to steal the whole show.

Wow, what an amazing read!

The mystery continued in this epic book. I just love the group dynamic and how they grow and function through out the story. We continue with Poe & and Stella's awesome story.

Past always catches up in the end and this was no different so I loved seeing how they handled the mysteries from the past. I highly recommend this book! SOOO GOOD!

Now I'm ready for Book 3.

Need me some more Payne & Sunday!

Fractured Things is the second book in the Folkestone Sins series. This book takes off right after the first one, so you need to read Fragile Things first. This story is told from dual points of view from Stella and Poe.

Stella returns to her aunts house wanting answers to all the secrets she found out. She falls harder for Poe, but Poe is keeping a secret from her and when she finds out it could tear them apart for good. Can he help her get her answers for who her father is, and what happened to her mother from her past?

I loved the character development between the two characters. As well as Stella's trust of her aunt and Poe when before she had no one she could trust since her mom took off.

I devoured this book. I really loved Stella and Poe's story. I can't wait for the next book in the series, which is Sunday and Payne's story.

Wow

I enjoyed Stella and Poe’s story. I was definitely not expecting that big reveal but things happened the way they should have in the end. Again that cliffhanger left me with a wtf moment and I definitely wasn’t expecting that.

This book continues on from where the first book left us hanging and what a ride it takes us on. More secrets and lies quickly catch up to the characters and when the truth gets revealed, nothing is held back. Stella & Poe go through hell when these secrets are exposed and I love the different POVs allowing us to see it from both Poe's & Stella's. Samantha does such a grand job of creating such wonderful characters that you can fall in love with and her storylines really keep you on your toes! The Heirs are such friendship goals and I cant get enough of them. Sunday is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters ever and I cant wait to dive into the next book to see what happens after the bomb shell that was dropped at the end of this book!!

Fractured Things is the second book in the Folkestone Sins series and continues the story of Stella and Poe.

I remember reading Fragile Things in August and I was obsessed with the book. I had to know how the book was going to end and what was going to happen to Stella and Poe. I had the same feeling with Fractured Things. Samantha Lovelock did such an amazing job with Stella and Poe’s duet and I really enjoyed reading their story.

I love reading about Stella. She went through a lot and she doesn’t always feel okay, but she’s badass at the same time. I also love reading about Stella and Sunday. I love reading about their friendship, they’re perfect for each other. And then we have Poe. I cannot not love him. I cannot resist him. I know that what he did was wrong, but just like Stella, I’d forgive him.

As I mentioned in my review of Fragile Things, I liked reading the same scene in both perspectives. It made me like the book even more because you get to know both characters’ thoughts and feelings. Fractured Things was such a good book and I enjoyed every bit of it. I’m so excited to read Sunday and Payne’s duet!!!
