This book had been sitting in my TBR for awhile, i started reading it as a kindle book, but when I was having a hard time getting into it, I got the audio as well so I could listen while I was working.  overall the story is ok, it just felt like it dragged on and was too slow for me at times.  I'm not sure either would have finished the book of I didn't have audio.

This lacked excitement, mystery, and interesting characters. The three main characters do not feel like they are friends or that they ever were friends. There is no connection between any of them. This isn't a book about besties going to Mexico, it's not about ex-friends who go to Mexico to re-connect (although they try to sell it as that) and it isn't even about frienemies where maybe the plot might have had insane can't-stop-reading drama. They were just three terrible and selfish women and they are boring to read about. I didn't care about any of their problems and I didn't care what happened to Ashley in Mexico.

3.5 Stars

This is an excellent read, one which will have you guessing or even questioning each of the friends. With each turn of the page I was captivated with a book which not only entertained me but also intrigued me with mystery and so much more.

Great book! I really liked their first one, so my expectations were high and I was not disappointed!

still trying to figure out how I feel about this book and the ending which was a little confusing to me. the book dragged and dwelled too much I think on the problems between the 3 girl friends. it was like reading 300 pages of strong willed women arguing . I don't normally mind alternating narrators but when you throw in alternating timelines too, it became too disjointed for me. even though there was plenty of character development. I just didn't really come to care for the characters or root for them. I did want to keep reading to see what happened but then after the end, it was all kind of meh for me.

Not horrible writing, but I just didn’t care about these characters enough to finish it.

2.5 stars. Really wanted to like this more but it was very slow

Girls' Night Out A Novelby Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke A beautiful, haunting story of friendship and what happens when that friendship is put to the test. A must-read for women of all ages!!! The author and Netgally should be proud of themselves for producing this work of fiction. This book made me love my best friend a little more after reading this because this because while this was a great thriller it made me sad for the friendships in these pages. You will feel like you are reading two stories that come together so well and you will want to know how these woman’s lives are alone and the secrets between them are intermixed. Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren have traveled all the way to Tulum, Mexico in hopes of rekindling their previous friendships. The book opens in present time. Natalie awakens the morning of their last day in Mexico. She panics when she realizes she’s not in her hotel bed. She’s not in any bed. She is outside the hotel, on the beach alone. Natalie’s memory is black in spots and she goes on a search for the other girls. She goes to Ashley’s room everything is there but Ashley……. She continues to Lauren’s room and they come to the conclusion that Ashley is gone. Did she go willingly, was she kidnapped?? What has happened and why is Lauren the only one unfazed? The book flips between all three women’s prospective. There were times that I wish the book slowed down a bit so I could keep the facts straight but once you get a feel for the set-up of the book then you will find that this book is a fun read. I will say that I expected a light read because of the title but what I got was an adventure with a little bit of mystery. A four-star read for me will be reading more from these ladies for sure.

This is a super twisty-turny novel that will suck you right in from the beginning and not let go until the very end. If you are looking for a novel to get absorbed into this summer, this is it.

This novel is about three friends: Ashley, Lauren and Natalie who have grown apart since Lauren's husband died the year prior. On a whim Ashley decides to invite Lauren and Natalie to Mexico where she believes they will rekindle their friendship and come back renewed. Things do not go as planned and on the last night of their tumultuous trip Ashley goes missing and Lauren and Natalie try to piece together what happened.

Overall I felt this was a really grippy novel and it was hard to put down. However, the slight downfall is that I feel there is almost TOO much detail and there's quite a few loose ends at the conclusion of the novel which slightly frustrated me. Still, I think it's a solid read and was definitely hard to put down!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this novel in exchange for my review.

Not as strong as [b:The Good Widow|32604387|The Good Widow|Liz Fenton|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1484677281s/32604387.jpg|53185492] and populated by essentially 100% unlikable characters. I can't think of anyone who didn't drive me crazy, aside from small characters like the hotel employee who helps them out. It's definitely a warning that when everyone is overwhelmed there's not much they can do to empathize with each other's struggles. (Although the three main characters were exceptionally self-involved and one would hope there are people in this world a little better at empathy.)
