LMM did my girl Anne so dirty with this one. I love the main series, didn’t know that this was written afterwards. Anne’s characterization was very flat and ~flawless, so it felt more like fan service than part of the series.
It was fine but I wish I skipped it.

Nothing much to say about this series that hasn't already been said. Sweet and comforting recounting of the adventures of our girl Anne as she makes her way in the world as a young woman. These books don't appeal to everyone, but they're the original cozy novels and I will reread them forever.

Szczególnie w porównaniu do kolejnej pozycji.

This was my least favorite Anne book in the past, so I was curious how I felt about it this time around. I think after reading all the ones that came before (and having the benefit of being older), I think the best word to describe this would be "okay". It's just moments of Anne's life as she teaches in the school. There are some shenanigans, some characters she meets and charms along the way, and some letters she sends to Gilbert. That's about it.
It's hard to know what to say about a series of books that are basically just following this one woman's life. I wouldn't say this is a bad book, but I would say it's the sort of thing you read just to relax. There's a few humorous moments and a few sad moments, but the overall tone of this book is pretty laid back.
The main issue I have is in the letters Anne sends Gilbert. Mostly they go through what happened to her recently and she transcribes whole conversations into the letters. It's a little weird, but I guess it would be on-brand of her to do it. I would've liked more clues to how Gilbert responds to these letters or some that read more like love letters. I guess Anne is getting older but it just seems odd she wouldn't be gushing over her fiancee when she writes to him.
It's fine enough but it's definitely a skippable book.

Nothing particularly special about the fourth installment in the Green Gables series, but still enjoyable. I didn’t know how to feel about the story being told through letters to Gilbert at first (since we don’t get to read his replies, I felt a little disappointed but I understood why that was the case) but I got used to it as the story went on. Plus it’s not exclusively told through these letters, which is what I was worried about. Anne seems to find herself constantly taking care of the most annoying children known to man. And not just random children, the most aggravating twins AGAIN!! I was not happy to find myself in this familiar plot point. Also that one bitch, Hazel I think her name is?? Good lord I feel like I know people like her omg what a piece of fucking work. Anne has really grown up because idk how I would’ve conducted myself around someone as infuriating as that. Looking forward to the next book because if I’m not wrong, Anne and Gilbert will FINALLY be married!!!
