Note to self: You love everything John Allison does. So look it all up and buy it.

Steeple has tuned out to be nearer and dearer to me than Giant Days, which is high praise indeed. Even though there are a lot of questions, and some things I would love to see explored more in the first volume. I am hoping these will be resolved, or make more in-depth appearances as the series continues.

Funny, but a bit scattered in the execution. Would read more in a longer format, I enjoyed the art style and character designs.

This was a quirky little story that really caught my interest. Lots ideas to develop as the series continues. Wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I did.

YES!! Hilarious, religious humor for the win, adorable art, must needed break from reality.

This is fine, but a lot of stuff happens at first, then nothing, then a big switcheroo at the very end. So it sorta feels like the bulk of the book was the time between two events?

Which is life, right? You're born, a bunch of stuff happens, then you die. Life is Steeple volume 1: two big events with a bunch of smaller stuff that gets kinda boring in between.

John Allison's comics are definitely big comfort reads--low stakes, loveable characters, slice-of-life with hilarious facial expressions. Giant Days is still the best of them, but Steeple is also fun.

OMG!!! My library had Vol. 1 as an eBook!!! I'm so happy! This was hilarious and touching and just as great as Giant Days only with paranormal stuff. I will also now refer to wine as "Lady Petrol." I am looking forward to more of this series for sure!
