their banter is what pushed this book to a 4 star because for a good majority of this book, mainly until half way through, I did not know how I felt about this book. all i’ve got to say is I’ve seen this book recommend as a great starter for dark romance and I cannot disagree more with that. i’ve read quite a lot of dark romance and this book was still a lot for me. i’m happy that I read the royal elite series now before because I was prepared for how Rina Kent writes her characters and knew what to expect going in. please please check your triggers before reading.

now I will say that Killian makes Aiden look like the biggest sweetheart 😂. this man
was UNHINGED but at the end he was (in his own way) sweet? he definitely was protective of our girl Glyn and I can root for him in that aspect. he didn’t want anything to happen to her especially with how we met her and how he never wanted her to feel that way again. everyting else about this man though… I don’t know he was a lot lol. plus some of the things he said I just could not with him.

Glyn was also a complicated character and I hated that she questioned every good thing that someone had to say to her and i’m happy that she came into her own and started standing up to her brother and voicing her opinions and how she felt.

my biggest complaint about this book was that they had the same argument that she didn’t want to say she was his but she continued to come back to him like she was? I get that she was holding out saying that because she felt like it gave her some power but did it? the twist for me was great but the reason for it not so much and maybe that will come more into play with the following books.

I really loved the book but hated the ending. It was rushed and the "plot twist" didn't make any sense (at least to me)

I would give this bad boy a 3.5 star

This was my first dabble into Rina Kent and I have to say it was wild.

Chapter 1 really kinda threw me for a loop... But I also need therapy so I liked it probably more than I should admit to myself

Killian was okay though... He wouldn't be one of my top book boyfriends, but he's fine...

I want to keep reading this series though simply because I want to get to God of Fury.

But based off of this book, I am not in a crazy hurry to get to it.

I liked it, it was fun but... I don't know. It was fine

This book had no business being near 500 pages. The end could've been so much better. The conflict could've been so much better. It was so .... Bland for being a dark romance. The smut was nice, but thats all it was.
