Perfect fast Christmas book. Even though it's number 10 in the series you don't need to have read any others. I read maybe the first 3 in the series about a decade ago and remembered nothing. Didn't matter. I'm a sucker for Christmas books.

This book was fine. Not terrible, but annoyingly repetitive. I’ll forget about it by next week.

Flew through this in a day. One of my favorite things about this series, something I didn't realize until I was almost finished with this one, is how Wiggs can take a character who was annoying in virtually every previous book and then make him/her charming, sympathetic and make you forget your earlier impressions. That's how I felt about Logan. My 1 complaint about him in this is how she "forgot" about his alcoholism. Darcy was a great character although her family was a bit clueless and callous (I felt). Fun, quick, charming return to Willow Lake and Avalon with characters and a town that are easy to enjoy.

Logan is a single father who only gets his son on holidays and some during the summer. The story starts out during the summer when Logan and his son are both at summer camp. On the last night his sister and a friend stop by to visit them for the evening. Jump to Thanksgiving and the friend spends time with his family in Florida. Now jump again and Logan wants to have the perfect Christmas for his son.

As a standalone Christmas romance, I'd give it about 3.5 stars. As a part of the Lakeshore Chronicles, I'd give it 2. I was very disappointed in Logan's book. He is the "ex" of Daisy Bellamy (from Book 8). Earlier in the series, Wiggs made us root for Greg (book 3--Dockside) and then just as much for Sophie, Greg's ex-wife (in Book 4--Snowfall at Willow Lake). It was very hard to root for Logan. He had so much unprocessed trauma with his drinking, and his relationship with his dad, not to mention the collapse of his marriage. None of that was addressed. It was like, "I'm ready for a girlfriend, too bad my parents like this girl, but I'll give it a try anyway." Just not what I was hoping for.

Fluffy and sweet and very Christmassy. Basically like a Hallmark channel Christmas movie in book form!

I’m usually a fan of Wiggs’s writing, but I could not get into this book. I did not like Logan at all. Maybe toward the end he’s better but I just couldn’t read another page about how he was lusting over Darcy or how he gets annoyed with his son for sitting between them when he doesn’t see his son often. Not for me.

Het is een zoetsappig kerstverhaal. Beetje onrealistisch maar wel een mooi verhaal met herkenbare thema's: scheiding, kinderen, kerstdrama
